I've been in dream land for the last few weeks as my M 14 parts all roll in. I'm doing a Scout in a Boyds nutmeg laminate with Rooster33's GLFS, op-rod guide and bolt release. I'm also planning to do a Smith Vortex FS as well as a IOR Valdala M1 on a ARMS 18 when funds allow. What are you guys planning?

I am currently machining a stock out of aluminium that will be lighter than the Sage. When it is done I will be working on the components bringing them to NM spec. It has been an interesting challenge so far, things are going well though.

I've been heavily considering doing the same as yourself, considering the stock.
Could you post some pics of your stock when you are done?
Much thanks,

I'm thinking about making a synthetic stock set. My old man (who's into that type of stuff) told me to bring my wooden stock out at Christmas when I go back home and we'll put something together.

Fiberglass custom painted USGI Stock, Rooster33 Op rod and some other things...just waiting for marstar

Im waiting too,

I want to reparkerize the whole rifle to have a very dark finish, USGI wood stock coming next week. For the tweak I will be unitizing the gas system, NM R33 op rod guide, recoil buffer and tac release. Funds dont allow more stuff for the moment...

Mine will be like this

- Norinco reciever, trigger group and operating rod
- Eugene Barnett 1/10, 6 grooves heavy match barrel
- USGI TRW Bolt
- USGI Shimmed Gas system
- USGI flash supressor
- SADLACK MAtch op rod spring guide
- USGI Op rod spring
- USGI fiberglass stock that has been reenforced at the forehend
- ARMS #18 mount with ARMS #22 quick detetch rings
- Tasco Super Sniper 10X42M scope

M305

I hope for Mine:

M305
Reindex Barrel
Check Headspace
Shim Gas System
Rooster33 OP Rod Spring guide
Rooster33 Tach Bolt Stop/Release
Recoil Buffer
Barrel chop /w new flash hider (recomendations on both???)
Navy Metric front site.
USGI Synthetic stock - Painted matt/flat Black (probably)
Replace Handguard - Looking for something with a front rail!!! (anyone??)
Holo-Site - Red Dot - Bushnell, EOTech or a cheep Aimpoint (still working on the choices)

If she works good I will be happy with this, as time goes by I may watch for new bolt, trigger assy, & rear iorns.

If anyone has feed back on:
-Barrel Chop... who does a good job - lemme know
-front rail options and ideas?
-Anyone got experience with a Holo-site on a M305????

Here is how I am setting up the 2 that just arrived...

USGI synthetic stock
R33 scout mount
Arms #22 low quick detach ring
Stainless oprod guide rod
buffer
Aimpoint M2 clone

Cheers
Jay

My next M305 build will be:

Douglas heavy match barrel
USGI gas system complete
TRW bolt
NM op. rod guide
USGI op. rod spring
USGI fiberglass stock

Hope it will shoot as good as my first one. Only difference between the two is that my first one has a Fulton Armory NM barrel.

After attending Hungry's clinic last year, I am confident that I can do all the mods myself. Thanks again Barney.

No plans for it but if I win the lotto a socom 16 black with a trijicon scope scout
style.
Now that I have read all the threads about the 305's I am seriosly considering a socom 18 and a half clone with the usgi stock, harris bipod and a acog copy or russian SVD scope instead of a bolt scout. Everyone seems so damn happy with them it will be hard to find one used.
