What's your oldest firearm?

Eddystone 1917 .30-06, US proof markings, made January 1918. Was also a WWII lend-lease gun, has "england" stamped on reciever along with british cartouches next to US ones. Winchester bolt.

Was bubba'ed, but bubba was sober that day because he ended up with a pretty rifle. Barrel is original, but cut down a bit and re-crowned. Sights milled off, leupold one-piece base installed. Hand-made aluminum buttplate. Free-floated barrel. Red-stained, wax-finished stock with hand checkering.

It shoots 1" with ammo it likes.

Tracking down its history is the best part about this 90-year old rifle. Every owner has put something into it. I'm leaving it alone for now, but in the future I may put a finer scope on and skim-bed the action. I wish it could talk, it must have some stories to tell!

Winchester made P17 Enfield, but my serial# indicates 1917 vintage. Bubba wasn't drinking when he transformed mine either.

I believe that it was a non issued surplus, sat in a warehouse, and was enventually sporterized. My grandmother bought "new" it for my grandfather for an anniversary present in circa 1950. He has had it since, and passed it to me.:sniper:

It is very possible that I am the second owner of this gem.

Springfield 1865 in .50-70 cartridge conversion from a .58 cal percussion muzzle loader and an 1871 Hopkins and Allen Ranger No.2 in .32 rimfire.

Springfield carbine, built 1892 in .45-70 Gov't, good old trap-door that some idiot sawed the barrel off to 20". Had it redone to repair surface rust, blueing but left the wood as is, well oiled dark hunk of whatever. A lot of fun to shoot at whatever with lighter loads. Still wears rear ramp you can set to 600 yards - now that's some kind of trajectory. Like a Hail Mary from Brett Favre.

An 1895 winchester in 30-06, with nails patching the stock together. When i ran the Ser # it came up as 1920, IIRC.
