Here's and idea.

Let's say your base price for a new Springfield in canaday is 2k....

I'm interested I'm knowing the average price spent on most the m305 bought by our citizens, so here's the deal. Start with your ballpark figure or if known, exact price point for what you've put into your particular build, followed by what parts and what brand. I don't care about accuracy results or anything like that. Just pure cost for what you've got. I'll start....

$879 total

450------M305 shorty rifle (canadaammo)
110------boyds unfinished stock (finished)
55-------Sadlak oprod guide and David tubb chrome silicon spring
81-------spare bolt guts bundle, chrome firing pin
80-------rear sight PB/USGI
13-------rubber butt pad (didn't like)
90-------Springfield armory muzzle brake
70-------2 extra mags

Mind you this doesn't really include shipping or tax, I saved myself more than 1200$$$

dude- awesome idea for a thread. Ill play along since im curious to see for myself....

450- shorty w/2 mags
80- GI stock, crummy shape to be bedded and spray bombed.
180- arms #18 mount
120 sale- Dlask adjustable gas lock/front sight
50 ish- sadlak spring guide/tubb spring
20- vented handgaurd
15- rubber but pad
15- new op rod guide(old one shook like parkinsons)
FREE- super handy screws for my arms 18 + op rod guide courtesy of Hungry

$930 for a prettied up rifle ready for scope + zombies. the satisfaction of putting it together is worth quite a bit for sure
as I havent had the chance to work on a gun before.

total savings- doesnt matter 'cause I got a forged in spec receiver that isnt a springfield.

what didnt you like about the rubber but pad? mines in the mail. Also considering using a garand but pad + bedding.

I'm at around $399 for the gun, and $35.00 for the op rod guide. Shoots 1.5 so I can't complain, but I'm sure if I dropped another 1300 in it I might get 1.25

I'm not counting the scope though, because they never seem to last long on any of the guns I put them on

350 - Shorty w/ 2mags
50 - Milarm scope mount
146 - 10*40 Bushnell scope
40 - Millet rings

Total $586

Would like:

80 - Tacpro cheek riser and Op rod spring guide
120 - GI synthetic (maybe)
6 - shim kit
45 - Extended bolt release.

So add another $250 of planned purchases and i'm at $836

I just didnt like the LOP

400 - gun
45 - spring guide
100 - three more mags
30 - nice sling (Uncle Mike's '03 pattern, leather, sweet!)

575 that makes it. This doesn't include better iron sights, a USGI flash eliminator, or more mags. :dancingbanana:

450 - Shorty with 2 mags
35 - M14 clinic accurizing
25 - Cheek riser
120 - CASM Gen2
55 - Rings
400 - Bushnell 6500 Elite
_____
1085 all in.

:needPics:

400...........Norc Longy
65 .............3x5/20 mags
400 ............Redfield 6x18-44 scope and mount with rings
315.............Archangel stock
65...............bi-pod of unknown origin

Ah crap..............all that tied up in a bloody gun that isnt worth half that!!!! Can see why were Nutters now. I just hope she dont see this or my #### will fall off :)

AND I STILL HAVE TO SHOUT " PING, PING, PING,PING,PING "

You Sir are a life saver, now I can show her what I could have spent.
We really could use some pics on his topic tho, lets have a show and tell :)

Norinco M14s (back in 96) $429.
used ARMS 18 - $200 shipped
Used Falcon Menace - $300 shipped
Sadlack spring guide and NM spring - $60 @ a Hungry Clinic
Two Hungry clinics - Priceless - :D

Around $1000

Gun is hovering right around MOA with 5 shot group hand loads. I'm pretty happy, if I'd bought a Springfield, I'd still want an ARMS18 mount , a tough scope and a Hungry Clinic.

Whoops forgot GI fiberglass stock, +$125 taxes and ship

Guess it's not much off the SA rifle, but was a lot more fun to build it than just buying it.
