Just as well. I'd be so embarrassed to show up at the range with pink bullets for my black powder loaded 45-70 and 50-70 Sharps rifles.
 
Meh if pink powder coating is on sale when I go to buy some, I’m going with what is cheap. My gun doesn’t care lol
But on that note...what brands are people using for powder and what is working?

Actually nothing wrong with pushing PC coated slugs with BP. The barrel or slug don't care what form of lube is used, PC or hard or soft wax, Its the powder fowling that requires the "softener" and that can be achieved with a grease cookie between the powder & slug , same as has been done for decades.

As for color preference...the rather nice 5x5 mule buck didn't seem to care that the slug that killed him was bright JD yellow.

Look great. I’m powder coating for 45/70 1873 Trapdoor. With smokeless I just use the pc bullets. With Goex I pan lube the pc bullets. Fouling is nice and soft and cleans up really fast. Bonus is absolutely no leading in the barrel.

Absolutely zero leading. What gun are you loading these for? I’m only loading 27 grains of H4198 when using smokeless as I’m shooting a 132 year old Trapdoor. Also use Eastwood powder as it is way better than Princess Auto powder. Unless you are loading for Ruger levels you shouldn’t have any issues.

I don't knock success.

Just seems an extra step to pan lube after the PC process. Good on ya' for experimenting!

I always make that decision after the slugs drop from the mold, if they are over-dia. right from the mold I will usually size before coating to "uniform" them before the coating. I always size after coating even if I did a "size" beforehand.

Some times the make/model of coating will dictate whether you size before or after as there can be 2 thou difference in coating thickness from one color to another. A slug that is already 2 thou over and you add another 2 thou is a big down-size at one stroke, especially if you are using a "hard cast alloy".

As Sharps74 has eluded too, PCing might be considered an "extra chore" to some...but not me, It is as essential to me as inserting a primer or measuring a powder charge or measuring OAL...it just has to be done to produce better shooting results with cast slugs. Quite frankly I wouldn't be enjoying the 2/3 reduction in shooting costs that cast slugs offer me if it weren't for PC...at any color.
 
Now in a double rifle you could load one barrel with pink ones for does and the other barrel with blue ones for bucks.

I like powder coating with Eastman clear and both lubesize and gas check the bullets after coating them. I'm loading 9.3x72 to feed a drilling and a double rifle drilling. It's all fun.
 
At our weekly IPSC practice yesterday, one of our number showed up with his 8 shot .357 S&W, wearing rows of slime green coated bullets on those vertical post ammo carriers.

I chose to shoot one of my snubby M19s with dull, drab LRNFPs, my speedloaders on my left hip as I would for IDPA concealed carry rules, but they wouldn't let me shoot concealed.

Between the two of us, we never placed lower than 4th in five stages against the remaining eight shooters armed with CZ Shadows, Glocks and 1911s. We never experienced a single function whereas the autos, well, you know ......

My fellow revolver shooter credits his neon ammo. Me, I must just be lucky, I guess.

BTW - two auto shooters were using coated bullets, one .45 ACP, one 9mm.

I'm sure the Eastwood powder looks better, but the Princess Auto stuff does a good job. It goes on thin, which might even be better.
 
Picked up some Eastwood lime green to slap on some slugs. Different colours are gonna lay down and have a different thickness due to pigments. And it was on sale so bonus lol mini convection oven is ready to do.
What are people doing for times and temps?
200’c 15-20min?
