Power outage due to heavy snowfall resulted in the office being shut down... perfect day to go chase mulies.

After dragging my A$$ through 83 cm (33 inches) of snow up some super steep ground all day I made it back to the truck with a little daylight to spare.

After less than 1 km of driving I came upon this big male as he tried to make his way up a steep hillside a little over 250yds but was having a heck of a time in the deep snow.... so I took a load off his mind with a quick shot from the 280AI and 140gr TSX @ 3167fps. A little grunting and groaning through the nut deep snow, and he was in the truck!

Hmm..
apparently you didn't have any expansion or penetration issues.;)

Nice going...

Nope.... he went straight down:dancingbanana:

He was headed straight away, and the bullet went in through his azz cheek, traversed the body cavity, and smashed the front shoulder... I found it in the neck actually (29" of penetration best I could measure), a lot of broken bone!

BTW... dropped by Bartell's tonight to show off the dawg, and mentioned the Feb dog killin' spree you and I had discussed some time back. He figured it sounds like a good idea ...

I still have another week of vacation for 2006 that I don't think I will be able to use...Feb I shoudl have some time:) And snce my truck runs on veg oil now, the cost will be cheap!:dancingbanana:

If he messed with MY TIMMY'S he'd be in the same condition!

Dang predators should stick to hunting cute little rabbits and fawns if they want to be considered harmless "puppies"... :p

Nice Job!

That is a nice wolf Ackley.... another trophy for sure.
I am more impressed with those TSX all the time.
Is that a Muzzle break on that nice rifle ... or just a bit of tape?

nice job:dancingbanana: That wolf is a big SOB , i am guessing that your barrel is a 26 inch tube . what was the measurement on that wolf

Way to go! We saw a lot of fresh wolf tracks when we were hunting up near Revelstoke. Big paws for sure!

What are you planning on doing with it? any taxedermy thoughts or keeping the pelt?

Wow very nice wolf. Just curious to what you would use the wolf for?

Bullet testing:D

I have one in my trophy room that I had tanned.... the rest I have been selling.

I whack wolves when I see'em, where I see'em (provided its legal).

Duct tape (couldn't find my electricians tape, and Bartell wouldn't part with one of his custom special order condoms:D ).

Yup, the TSX is an impressive bullet for sure.

Just figured it out... whacked 11 critters with a single box of 140gr TSX (and still have 3 left for the rest of the season):dancingbanana:
