When is enough, enough? Topic: sks's

I usually keep a few for sale at gun shows. I don't sell them for much more than I pay, but it is fun to have them on the table and listen to all the "experts" tell their friends that SKS's are "no good", or "you can buy them cheaper at (fill in the blanks)".

I sold every Chinese commercial SKS as soon as they were put on the table. I sold an SKS-D at the Calgary show to a nice young fellow at at discount. Quite a few "experts" loudly proclaimed that it was a "ridiculous" price for an SKS. They didn't see that it was a D, nor would they have known the difference.

I would like to conjure up a straight pull bolt action from one, someday.

Bought a factory 18.5 Chinese at the last Calgary show. He didn't know what he had either.

Where were you able to find a yugo? Their hard to find...

One on EE, $400 for a non GL.

I couldn't explain why reliable gun had a sks-d for $250 a few years ago at a discount.

When I saw it on EE i called and put it on m/c and told the clerk i pick it up in 30 minutes.

By the time i got there , he said he had multiple calls and pm , he said he had a feeling they priced it low.

Bo - you have a good number and if collecting, I hope you are covering years / armories and countries.

I bought and SKS as my second firearm. Then I bought a couple more. Only have one real nice one (letter gun), couple of shooters and parts. They are fun and for me as a new licensee, couldn't help grabbing more than one. Anyways, I am staying the course as I feel I missed the boat on the collectable versions by about 10 years :) and I'm not willing to pay a premium to get into the game.

Everyone goes by this incorrect though of collecting the more plentiful SKS and buying the less available Chinese SKS to run it hard and put it away wet. Both the Russian and Chinese SKS aren't collectable enough to me. I will buy one simply to shoot it and have fun with it. If I want to collect and SKS then I will buy Yugo M59/66 or an Albanian SKS.

Oh yea but to answer the question for someone who does wish to collect a bunch of SKS, In all honesty I don't think there is ever enough guns and ammo of any type.

Big fan of the SKS ,not so much of the RCMP rules on them-pinned mag to 5!
$250 SKS pinned at 5,stock 10 rd.
$30 XCR-L pistol mag
$200 HICAL pistol mag adapter
so double the price of a weapon just so it can do what it was meant to do in the first place?

That's the rules set by the Firearms act.

Politicians wrote that. Not the RCMP.
