Man,
My credit card still hasn't been charged by MARSTAR... Pretty sure I ordered mine the first day they were up. Hope I don't turn into one of those "cases" on the dark international thread...

I got a nice envelope with a green piece of paper in it which says i own one. so it cant be long before it shows up in the mail . I cant wait .

I used a free translator on the web for this quote from hfp75
i was wondering if its a crappy translation or was Himmler smoking a reefer at the time ?
Heinrich Himmler 1935
"Deutsch, die wünschen, Schusswaffen zu benutzen, sollen den SS oder den SA - gewöhnliche Bürger müssen nicht schießen anschließen, als ihre habenden Gewehre dem Staat nicht dienen."

M14 from Marstar has arrived!

My nice new cosmoline covered M14 arrived yesterday. I was up most of the night cleaning it during whcih I found this site. Great info, thank you all!

Thanks to John and staff at Marstar for prompt shipping and great service.

I didn't get any little green slip from the Govt yet though. Is this an issue?

Stopped at the post office on my home from work yesterday and was rewarded with a big box. :dancingbanana: :D :dancingbanana:
I was surprised to see the cleaning kit and a sling included as well, since they were not mentioned in the ad. I have been disassembling and cleaning, everything looks great. Now I have to go find those posts that mentioned what lube to put where.
Thanks John. I will definitely deal with Marstar again.

Did it come with a 5/20 round mag? Apparently mine is registered but I have not been charged for it yet and have not recieved anything.

Pete031, it came with one mag. I don't know enough about them whether its a 5/10 etc. FWIW it measures 2 1/4" high at the front and 2 1/2" at the back.

Hungry here: Keep that 5 rounder for hunting, actually, I use that 5 rounder for benchrest shooting or testing loads. The rest of the time for hunting and competition, I use the 5/20 rounders.... easier to grab and rotate forward during the magazine extraction process.

I ordered one a while ago. Friday I got my registration papers in the mail. I'm pretty excited. I hope I get a cleaning kit and a sling too! and a 5/20 would be sweet :D

Is it Christmas yet? because it sure feels like it.

Edit: I missed the postal guy on Friday, I'm going to pick it up monday, exactly 1 week sooner then I was expecting it to arrive :)

John and the boys must be firing them out the door as fast as they can. Mine arrived on Friday. As of last night, there was still no charge showing on my CC, and I have not gotten the registration from the CFC.

Received my new M305 on Thursday, including cleaning kit and 5/5 round mag. VERY NICE!! NOT HAVING THESE NICE GUNS KHAZACKSTAN!

It's my #3 "backup" M305. Hopefully, we can hold the liberal anti's at bay long enough for me to leave these to my boys once they are old enough.

Now I have to go and modify another USGI syn stock. :p

Got my registration and my new M14s on Thursday! I was expecting to wait another week so I am happy, happy happy.

Some feedback: my rear sight (the actual aperture is bent - i.e. if you look at it from the top the aperture is not perpendiculer to the rifle)
The other little thing is that the op rod guide is loose.

Hungry here: Loose op rod guides? Not to worry. In the past a few of us had driven over to Home Depot. Buy a few roll pins of different diameters and lengths. Then place a small block of wood (2x4 end cut) to support the op rod guide (remove handguard of course) and whack a smaller diameter pin THROUGH the existing chinese factory roll pin. Other CGNutters have had success glass bedding that op rod guide in place. No joking. See if that roll pin fix works for you. Keep a shzt load handy...

Came with a gun case, sling, 5/5 mag and cleaning kit in the stock... the thing that made me laugh, the cleaning kit includes a grease tube, which they oh so genrously fill with the nastiest dirty black motor oil-like substance. Gee THANKS, you can Keep your toxic waste China LOL

I got my baby Yesterday . Thanks John fast service I was dragging my Ass about going back to work after lunch and just as well or i would have missed postie .
I had to wait till later to clean her all up after downloading some instructions how to get the thing appart .
Im hoping to go down the range later today . I got a Nagant to try out too .

got mine apart and couldn't get the firing pin assembly (that could be the name for it) back onto it's rail! Argh, I finally got it after 1/2 hour of fiddeling with it. So, you can pull the op rod handle out just a little at a certain spot, just enough to get that little bearing back in it's home :) now all I need is to get some grease and a bore brush.

Hungry here: You will notice that on the right (starboard side) side directly beneath the rear sight windage knob, there is a cutout above the op rod raceway. You will notice that their is a guiding 'tab' in the interior of the op rod, this tab interfaces with the op rod raceway. Keep it greased and lubricated. Once that tab on the op rod is aligned with that cutout on the raceway, gently lift up the op rod handle or sometimes with Sproingfield INC rifles, I will gently pry upwards with a flat bladed screw driver (masking tape on the screwdriver's shaft), that's usually enough encouragement needed to get the op rod out of the op rod raceway.

Notice I said 'Sprinfield', I mean Sproingfield INC rifles, their recievers are sometimes lacking in quality control. The Norinco recievers are just so well made.... well except for that s2pid set screw on the right side of the barrel shank....
