When shooting sporting clay ..

what is the right protocol when you join a group of guys (that you don't know) .. and they keep cheating, asking for extra birds, and wanting to change the machine around to make it easier - harder - different ??
 
Shoot your own game .... and make sure you don't ever get squaded with them again.

Most clubs have a very strict policy about not permitting shooters to move or attempt to change the traps/cages/shooting stations. And "extra birds" that aren't paid for ... welll that's just plain theft.

Stay away from those dangerous, cheap, cheatin, & theiven' S.O.B.s ... hopefully they'll get found out and asked to leave.
 
Yup, don't shoot with them again. At a strange club I would just keep my mouth shut. At my home club if they are people I know I'll have a word with them. If I see guests or people I don't know pulling that crap they will get their asses ratted out by me. I've done it before and won't hesitate to do it again.

yeah, i am making sure i never squad with them again.
i talked to one of the guys after the shoot. thanked him for letting me play, but i wasn't comfortable with the x-tra clay thing and moving the machine around.

tried to tell me something about day fee charged to non members and crap - covers extra 5 or six birds.

i reminded him it was 5 or 6 birds per person
 
Is it a competition? I play alot of golf and see guys cheat on men's night all the time. I never say anything, but when we get to tournaments I kick their asses because they are essentially understating their handicaps while mine is accurate. In the tournaments they can't cheat.
 
just be aware that you may later meet these guys at a business meeting and ypu have been schooled in how they play....
how the heck can you move a thrower on a sporting clays course anyways? they are usually hidden somewhere away from the shooting station...
 
at our club the machines are within reach because they are manually operated -

i use the term machine but it's really just a spring loaded thrower - so it's easy to adjust

I know when the guys take me out they always let a round go through to see where the clays are coming from. Every person I have gone around with has done it. I figured it was the norm.
