Usually January tying to find myself a deal post Christmas present..

The selection seems to peak after hunting season.
The deals peak when the bills start to arrive . . . after Xmas and before taxes.
The best deals come from someone who does not follow CGN and when the wife/GF puts and end to shooting/hunting.
But it remains a mystery within the realms of "good better best". One man's deal is another's trophy.
Keep looking and be the first to view and hit the "I'll take it" button. Snooze you lose . . . hesitate and lose!

Other than constantly watching for sales/looking at townpost or #######, is there a certain time of year you'll find a better deal on rifles?

Today is probably the very best day for buying rifles.

One has to know the markets and timing is everything.
Cruise the EE daily sometime thrice daily if looking for something of interest.

The last Friday of October is Black Friday. Stores that never have sales often have a sale this day, perhaps 25% off everything.

I think for some of the bigger stores because they want to clear out last year's model to make room for the new models. A couple of years ago, I bought a Mossberg 930 with 5 chokes on clearance for $450 at the local Canadian tires and (I am not proud of this) I turned around and sold it for $600 at the local gun swap a few months later. I also got $65 CT money during their bonus event.
