When was the C Broad Arrow adopted ?

Just curious if anyone knows the origin of this mark and around what year it was adopted.

Extra points to anyone whom can tell me what was the first piece of kit or the make/model of the first firearm to be blessed by such a mark ....

Saw it on a Ross dated 1906. 1905 dated I* still had M&D stamp.

According to Defending the Dominion by D.W. Edgecombe the C-Broad Arrow Property Mark was adopted on the 14 September 1907.
