When Will the new Henry be Available in Canada?

It usually takes a year to get a new rifle up here - at least if the shop sources from a national wholesaler instead of dealing direct/importing themselves. And then, it only comes up if it survives the first year on the American market (there was a few offerings from Browning at the 2015 Shot Show that "wouldn't be available in Canada until 2016" and now they are absent from the entire line - along with most models of the 70 Winchester - oh well).

But on a positive note, maybe our buck will be worth more than 76 cents by the time they get here because if we "could source one today" it would have a shelf price of (near) $1300, which price it comparably with a Stainless BLR but 100-200 bucks more than either the straight grip or pistol grip blued BLR's.
 
I like that the Henry is doing a booming business in lever actions. Not everyone judges the bolt action as the premier action type. I prefer the exposed hammer rifle. Except for a 223 CZ527 all mine are exposed hammers. I can remember years ago when guys complained bitterly that their bolt action didn't come with irons. A guy could get slapped silly firing a bolt action magnum with irons with today's high comb stocks. I once owned a 243 BLR steel receiver and it was very accurate for three shots with its skinny barrel. Sold it because it was not a 444 Marlin, nothing wrong with its looks or function.

Besides those of us who cherish irons and especially peep sights are rapidly dwindling in numbers. One might say almost disappearing.
 
I handled one in Cabela's last year and liked it, but to me the new price said wait for the right used BLR to show up. Your Henry with irons looks better than the ones without, but of course that's a subjective opinion and I like having iron sights even when I intend to always use a scope.

Meanwhile, I scratched the lever action itch with a Marlin 1894 from Wholesale's liquidation so I probably won't ever get around to a BLR or a Henry Long Ranger.
