Sorry. The topic of discussion was on load development and I saw that you're in the Duncan area. The 'side issue' to that initial topic was my asking if you were in the Cowichan club.

In addition to still being in the Chemainus club, I've also rejoined the Cowichan club, primarily because the gate 'can' restrict access. That way, if the Copper Canyon gate is locked and I want to shoot I can do so by driving to Duncan. I was up at the Chemainus range for a short while today and I think the reason there are a number of occasions when the gate is presently left open is because the municipality is doing some water works project up there.

What really makes it all such a screw-up is the present location of the gate is actually located on municipal land. As such, it serves to block access to the range facility that the club has a lease on. The comedy of errors or :kickInTheNuts: is carried further in that the club has to pay $500.oo +/year for one key to allow access through the gate on municipal land to municipal property. More comedy?? 'They' can't move the gate a little further up the road to where the logging Co. property starts because;
  • 1/ There's no access to electrical power - I guess between the municipality and the logging Co. no one has a generator to supply power when required for a gate attendant.:rolleyes:
  • 2/ There's no access to a phone line - Jeez, even I have a cel phone!!
And on it goes!
