How about this? Let's say the Olympian gets to practice for a year to match Flannigan. In the meantime Flanigan competes to qualify for a position on the Olympic team.


Sure he has it and he can shoot fast. But can he manage the mental discipline and focus to compete at the International level? Probably not.


Why make so complicated and make either go through the politics? Why should either have to qualify in the others sport? Give both an equal amount of time. Your suggestion of a year seems reasonable. It would have to be worthwhile for both. I would also not limit it to the two. I would let any exhibition shooter step forward as well as any internation style shooter. The shooting will soon separate the wheat from the chaff.

Just curious, but what part of shooting eleven targets out of the air on one throw, do you think does not require mental disipline and focus.

On a side, and this is just my opinion. I think that either shooter to be at the top of his/her game requires talent, discipline and focus and one other important ingredient which is $$$$$MONEY$$$$$ and lots of it.
