Whens the ammo drought going to end

This goes on every dozen years or so. If its the first time you see this, then now you know better and stack it high when the opportunity arises. If it is not your first experience with ammo shortages, then shame on you because you didn't learn the first time.

I tend to agree with this. Of course, the people who were smart enough to prepare for this are still shooting gophers on the prairies, while the people who only buy a few boxes at a time and expect to get it at the local stores when they walk in anytime are now putting posts on the Forum because they have to pay five bucks a box or so if they can find some.

A few years ago, it was primers for centerfire cartridges. They went from $30-$35 per thousand to up to $75 a thousand at some of the Gun Shows. Now, primers are back down to the $35-$40 per thousand range. Certain popular Gun powders are now scarce and getting hard to find. Stocks of supplies are running low and .303 calibre components have almost disappeared.

So, we now have the Unprepared on this Forum calling those people who recognized what was happening and took action to prepare for it as "Hoarders". It is easier to complain and blame someone else than face up to it an take responsibility for their own actions (or lack of action) in having enough ammunition available for future use.

For those occasional shooter, when stocks do come back to more reasonable prices, BUY TWO BRICKS of it. When you get close to opening the second brick, buy another one. If you shoot a lot, BUY TWO CASES.

The stores in the states (AZ) are starting to get some. As the distributors get more the shops gets more etc. When the backlog in the US is filed than the Canadian orders will be filed. 1 1/2 years. Just my guess. I too just ordered a case online of Standard +, there are other shells there as well. Higher price but better shells. If all you want to do is go bang the CT had/has Dinapoints and M22s. Walley World also has Dinapoints. I do not buy these as I have lots and feel they should be left for those that need some so they can play. I will remember those guys that are buying up all they can and trying to resell at a ridiculous price. These guys will not get any future money from me no matter what they sell. I have only bought target shells in the last year, but temptation is there. I just do not need any bulk. Peavey Mart had some as well.

Canadian tire and any other general store with gun supply's seam to be low or out. But cabelas in Ontario has a good selection as well as more dedicated gun stores. Now mind you I am not buying top of line ammo. But just got the remengton bucket o bullets which is 1400 rounds of holo point jackated rounds. So as long as you have a good gun place near you then you are good. But if none around you may have issues

Picked up 4 bricks of 555 two weeks ago at Walmart, went back today and bought two more bricks. Price is up a little, $25/brick. I haven't had much trouble finding ammo. There have been times the shelves were empty but usually more stock the next week.
