Where are all the AR Mags?

DSC00197.jpg

They're useless without ammo....

Hes probably waiting till the Obama hi-cap ban comes in and he should be able to make a killing selling those for a higher price.

The problem with mil spec mags, is that they are not heat treated. After a few drops and the lips bend. Accurate-Mag are heat treated. They will also come out with teflon coated. So far they are too busy selling to Colt to pin them. They also make a number of very nice sniper mags that are heat treated, teflon coated and have a nylon follower. They sold 12,000 at the SHOT Show!

I will have some pictures up hopefully tomorrow.

The line IS available for Canada, PM me for info. LEO and militay resellers ONLY!

Best regards,
Henry;)

Not if he's just anticipating a money making opportunity.

That depends what the ban would state...
1-You just can't own a hi-cap mag anymore (you must pin the ones you have, or something like that)
2-You can own hi-cap mag if you already have some but the new ones aren't made available to the general public

If it's like #2, ok for the money making opportunity, but if it's anything else I don't see the point.

pins can be removed, 5rd mags can't be stretched.

I think there would still be an inherent value in pinned mags to most people, especially Americans.

Would you mind posting the name of your company so I can start a formal boycott?

Great..:onCrack:Another we won't sell to C-Villians company???.

Why would you post pics if we can't buy them??

He cannot pin /modify the mags once they have entered Canada you can loose your firearms bussiness license over this .Hell Colt Canada sell there mags for 15.00 a piece but we cannot pin them and sell them to the public they are prohibit devices that are to be sold to End Users only.

Thank you, Mr Savage, you are right! Here are some pics of the AR15 type mags:

Heat treating makes a very large difference in the price of mags. It is a labour intensive prcess. Also notice the nylon followers and the teflon coating, it makes it a smoother feed and more resistant to crude.

Here you go...

Those mags look like AI mags... not AR's...

The 5 shot mags are for AI rifles. The 30 round mags are AR15/M16. The ten round in the rough, is for the Remington sniper.
Thanks for putting the pics up.

How does that work? If the dealers bringing in the SKS's and selling them, have to first do some work to legalize them, how is bying the mags and pinning them any different?

Not trying to be a smart ass, just not in the know how this works...

Generally, all the AR mags are pinned in Canada by the dealer.

Then your CFO is much more forgiving than ours...

In Ontario, a dealer who did that would be in serious trouble... according to the Ontario CFO there is no provision in the firearms act that allows a dealer to be in possession of Prohibited Devices (high cap magazines) for the purpose of pinning them... and there is no provision in the act to take a Prohibited Device (high cap magazine) and turn it into a legal magazine. All magazines must be pinned "before" entering the country... the only exception are those being imported specifically for government (LE or Military) and those cannot be later "pinned" for civilian sale.

You're a lucky guy ;)

Mark

All the sks's in Alberta come to the distributor here with ten rnd capacity and get the little bar welded on before being sold. Maybe it is diferent elsewhere or maybe mags come in in parts and can be pinned and assembled here.

Yes, the CFO here, by comparison, is good. I know the Alberta shops do it as well.

OK. It is settled then. All Mags must now be imported by dealers out west. :) Import some C Products mags CanAm, they already come lanced to 5 rounds. Should save a few bucks on labour.
