Where are all the deer?

Anyone else notice the lack of deer compared to past years in the Ottawa,,, Kemptville, Arnprior and Renfrew Areas?

Even driving past all the crop fields I hardly see one where I used to see many..where are they hiding....

Ya i agree, I haven't seen any all year. And I have been looking. Although I saw a big buck dead in ditch by almonte. Had a 6 pt rack.

I'm only 40 minutes south of Ottawa... went out this morning and saw 4 does and 2 fawns.... had 20 deer behind the house eating the corn I left on the frozen pond last winter..... I think we are doing ok...

NOT seeing many near my farm 40 minutes north of Saskatoon. Really deep snow probably winter killed many last winter.

Opening day here in WMU 60 and I dropped a nice 10 point this am and a friends 16 year old son took a nice 6 from the same stand this evening. Seeing tons of does too.....

Same thing here, tons of does but no bucks.

lots of yotes and wolves taken my deer away that's why i'll be hunting yotes just after deer season finishes or I get my buck whatever may come first.

Southern Alberta has a healthy population of whitetail and mule deer. The prairies open tomorrow (Nov 6th) and sure that hunters will be filling their tags. During my scouting trips (1 to 3 hours) I count between 50 to 250 deer, which 75% are mule deer and the remainder whitetail.

I'm in WMU 47 was seeing lots of does and fawns in daylight hours, bucks on cameras at night. Heavy Archery hunting has turned them nocturnal here. We call them Government Goats, or, Speed Beef..LOL

Alliston here and one doe hung in the wood shed. 2 came out one got away.

It's the same east of Ottawa , Have not seen many Deers, but there have been plenty of Coyotes around since that big winter of 2008

Was wondering how you were doing so far...
Counted 13 does and a 6 point buck yesterday in zone 60. Wrangled up another 2 does and a fawn today but we don't have a doe tag. D'OH!!
Didn't have a decent shot at the buck before he bailed, unfortunately...

West of Ottawa...

We have 5 hanging as of tonight. All does. I missed a smaller buck today which sucked but it was a clean miss at least. 7 more tags to fill.

Lots of deer around but all out at night where we are.
