I checked all the usual suspects looking for an oversize M14 bolt release but it seems all the Canadian vendors are sold out. Does anyone have an idea who contact to get one of these.
Please don't make me buy a Smith one from Brownells!

Hi. If you're searching for 'M14' parts, that may be your issue(restricted for export from the States). Search for M1A or M305 parts. Try Western Gunparts too.

I would really like to buy a NEA bolt release, but they seem to be sold out everywhere. I guess the price was just too good.
I kinda like the Smith one better anyway because it isn't as wide. And I truely believe I would be trimming the sides off the NEA one anyway.
Oh and when I said M14, I really ment to say the "M1A" bolt release from Brownells, wink wink. So no problem to ship that.

When I bought mine two months ago the Smith M14 Extended Bolt Release was not restricted for export. No need to *wink* - just call up Brownell's and order it. For your money you will also get a nice letter from the U.S. government about reselling it.

But we all know how things can change.

Still waiting for a Op Rod spring guide from NEA, the round SS. Ordered 2 a few months back got one but billed for 2. Hoping to get the 2nd one before the end of summer for another build im working on.

Seems that they dont do many runs of the product even though there is a good demand for M14 parts.

I am happy with the rod i did get btw.

I ordered an Nea extended bolt release when they first announced it. I ended up getting the SEI which Is the cats A$$. I am noticing a pattern with NEA. They are big on announcements, and then that's the last you hear of it. It's a shame because we need the manufacturers, but now I take all their announcments with a big grain of salt

If you ordered a bolt release when we announced its production, but it's only just finishing plating now.. then you have an issue with the retailer that pre sold a product they didn't have. No one has them. That's hardly our fault or in our control. All we can do is produce and supply, we have no control over the retail side of it.

The fact that our runs sell out faster than we can run more is hardly our biggest fear. Our Spring guides sold out in a week. It's always hard to gauge what size of a batch to run, especially on a first production.Aside from asking people not to buy them, we're at the mercy of the demand.

Add to the fact that we're running 7 machines on 3-shifts to keep up with our domestic, government and international demands, and trying to keep inventory on almost 70 products.. well you can see where there may be a delay from time to time. Especially when our product sells out right away.

It's hard to balance the fact that you're making a product that people like and want and buy out, but you still get s**t because it's for those reasons that others can't buy them. Can't win... just have to keep on trucking and do the best we can do.

As for the Bolt releases they will be shipping to dealers shortly. There was another delay because we decided to kick up the hardness a bit more. We'd rather delay another week than have a unsatisfactory product. There coming, but we no longer give specific dates..

As a fledgling manufacturer with a high demand product (talking about me here), I can only imagine what the boss at NEA must deal with daily. I've also had the pleasure of touring some firearms parts manufacturing facilities and I'm constanly in awe at the organized chaos that any manufacturer must deal with.
I've got every confidence that NEA will deliver a quality product and I agree with cuttin em a little slack as they get the part up to the expectations of the canadian masses ;)

Tell you what.. email me at dave@northeasternarms.com and I will personally make sure that you get one out of the first batch. We'll take care of it with your retailer and ship it direct.

Please shoot me a PM.

It's not a car dealership that's for sure.. It's a fly by the seat of your pants industry just to keep on top of things. You get government or military sales it's very cut & dry.. they order you give them a ship date.. the retail market is pure chaos and unpredictable from the onset. We are at the whim of the consumer. And all it takes it a well placed review by someone on some board somewhere and all of a sudden there's nothing left anywhere. On a first run of a product it's totally a crap shoot.

As a previous manufacturer and retailer I have made product that still can't keep up with demand.. I have also seen product that you know will sell well sit on the shelves. The only thing you can count on is that regardless of how you try and do business, there will always be someone unhappy at the situation. The only thing worse than a bad product that no one buys (and only makes you unhappy) is a great product that no one can have (and makes everyone unhappy).

Good to hear that there are some bolt releases inbound. I will hold off ordering one from Brownells. I'm sending you a PM DMcFAul because I want to make sure I get one before the sell out.
I may even order a mag release as well.
Cheers.
