???? Where are all the sks-d's ???

Yeah. Go find a damn cardboard box and post pics on imgur and I imagine inside 2 weeks it'll sell. I've had better luck on ####### recently for selling stuff, and pics are easy to post on your ad over there. Here's been slow lately.

Locally SKS-D are still going much lower. I think even $1000 is insane for that. It is probably the lowest quality SKS you can buy, yes they do shoot.

please do tell us why the SKS-D is the lowest quality sks you can buy..... I call bullsh!t on that one LOL
and I've gone owned literally dozens of SKS's in my time

I suppose that of the 3 main manufactures imported to canada.... those being the Yugoslav , the russians and the chinese...... ALL chinese SKS rifles would be lowest on the pole.
"quality" wise..... I think pretty much all the chinese sks rifles are the same when it comes to machining and steel quality.
At the end of the day they will all wear out in similar fashion

Here is few reasons:
The SKS-D will likely be the last one standing once the OIC dust settles, as this paticular model is getting pretty rare anyway.
I can't see the regular SKS being on any list for the forseable furure, as nearly everyone has one and the backlash would be too big....the D is kind of hiding under the SKS banner, which serves as a protection shield of sorts...for now.

The fact that it takes AK mags is a HUGE DEAL, since they can be found just about everywhere.
This can transform the SKS-D into a reliable fighting rifle in the SHTF scenario.

Those are the main reasons, that those whom have them will hold onto them no matter what.

There are also some secondary reasons...those are the comparisons between the SKS-D and other SKS stick mag mod-els:

You can find tons of the Crapco conversions floating out there...and for a good reason.
While they might look all "cool and tactical", the removeable duckbill mag conversion renders them pretty much useless, as this mod kills most of the legendary SKS reliability.

Then you got the SKS-KD's...those are starting to get rare as well, but you can still find one occasionally....I see them pop out on ####### every couple of months or so...usually gone within minutes of posting.
The main issue with those is the fact, that converting a regular SKS into one that takes AK mags is a major and a very radical surgery (deffinitelly not something for a backyard machinist with a file and hammer)...while the Kodiak defense has the means of doing it, I still wouldn't trust it over the real thing.

This is why finding an actual true SKS-D is and will be next to impossible for now or any near future.
Made to take AK mags straight from the factory and reliable as ####.
Hard to beat combination.

P.S edit...I would argue that for the prepper minded individual, the SKS-D is likely THE most sought after rifle in Canada right now.

not a Valmet??? since they are exempt by name?

Internet lore says the SKS-D is a jam-o'matic.

Mine has never jamed. Every bit as reliable as a regular SKS.

I agree with this..... all of the true D models I have owned have been reliable, shot decent for what they are, had reasonable machining quality for what they are and I have never personally had any issues manipulating SKS mags. They way this forum reads sometimes is not very representative of the reality of the SKS-D.

As far as all SKS rifles go, the wooden stocks are all made for small frame people, or so it seems, and at least they are easy to replace with something more ergonomic and adjustable

I used to run CQB drills with an SKS-d and while AR's were always faster through the courses, the D was no slouch either. There is a technique to it and some can't grasp it I guess.
maybe most folks who knock the D currently don't own one and secretly wish they did

that is a good price. It will sell.
There are currently a few other hot tickets that I bet people are spending instead of the ee
Heck I'd buy josey wales D at that price but am comitted to another purchase at the moment.

My first rifle was the SKS-D from Caina company!
Had fun with it when you could actually load a 30 rd mag and blast away. But it never fed a full one without a jam.
Sold it years later. Would buy one now for the nostalgia.
