Where are the ACR

Since Bushmaster is in major damage control ... trying to win back the ground they lost to Remington

They're not competing with each other, they're owned by the same company, Cerberus.

The ACR isn't available because they're overpriced for their value. Beyond the novelty crowd, few want one when better rifles can be had at a better price.

There have only been two shipments imported; the first was part of a larger order distributed by Gravel and the second was a smaller one brought in by Questar. These have long since sold and there have been no subsequent shipments, hence why they're generally unavailable in Canada.

As for why they're also hard to find in the US right now, part of this is because Remington relocated manufacturing for the Bushmaster ACR last year - and this resulted in the supply dropping. They're also a more expensive rifle in the US, and I think a lot of dealers don't necessarily stock them because they're going to sit there longer in inventory.

The comments about being overpriced for their value are just BS: A high-end AR will run you about as much as a new ACR, so these type of comments general originate from either haters or people who would like one but just can't afford it. And that's fine - there's always the XCR. :D

I think many "high-end" AR15s are overpriced for their value also :p

Aint that the truth. You have to pay to play and those who can't pay, complain.

Agreed. I still enjoy mine. With the nice weather here, I will soon again. Though with Blaxsun selling his....my faith has been shaken : > (jk)

There's been a good trend in the AR15 market these days, prices are down and availability is up!

Hey, can't go wrong with that!!

guys, just letting you all know that I'm not trashing any of the retailers in Canada, they don't have much choice in raising the price to cover cost and make a little bit of money, I understand that. It's just sad we can't make our own firearms and ammo in Canada :(

Our retailers buy it retail price, and then sell it back to us at added retail cost, it's sad :( but I'll still keep buying, just not as much as I would if I were to live in the US. V:I:

I used to drool over the ACR, as I do with all new rifles that come out. Now not so much. All I want now is to find a rifle that is as reliable (or close to) as the AK. I'm sure there are a thousand threads on this.
