In previous years, the lakes and ponds which surround my grouse hunting area would echo with the sound of gunfire as the evening flight of geese returned from feeding. This year, even though the numbers of Canadas look better than ever, there is no gunfire at sunset, or any other time for that matter. I made a couple of calls to some locals I know, and they report the same thing. Where are all the goose hunters? Seven day a week hunting, generous limits and plentiful birds should not scare hunters away! Is anyone else noticing this trend?
