Gophers in BC?

YEAH!!! GOPHERS!!!!! lol. i agree, anyone know where to find these critters in BC, aside from Manning Park? and where it's legal to shoot them?

All gophers and all marmots, are protected in BC on crown land. They can be shot on private property with the written permission of the land owner.

If travelling from BC, take a can of sardines or salmon.
Ten minutes after you leave Alberta, stop and eat your fish.
From the side of the road, turn the can up-side-down, and stand on it.
No matter which way you are looking will look like gopher country. Anyone over 6 feet tall will be ale to see Regina and Saskatoon and there are lots of gophers in between there.
Road kills are also a good indicator. Once you see a few turn right or left off the highway, and chat up the nearest farmer/rancher. Introductions and a handshake will go a long way. Draft up your own letter indicating you are responsible. Close all gates, ask where the catlle are, and knowing the difference between cows, calves, bulls, hiefers and steers will enhance your acceptance. If you are told where to hunt, you're accepted. If told to got to hell, go there too after thanking the "landlord" but consider that perhaps you flunked some or all of your customer service 101 course.

I saw a gopher in Flaxcomb (just west of Kindersley) on my way back to Alberta this past friday. The white winter coat is now starting to turn a paler shade of oatmeal colour. ;)

Ozzy, my blue heeler gets credit for the first two confirmed kills of the year though.

Saw a couple in God's Country today. They're about to change into a darker shade of blood red:D

Like Willy11 said there is a big one in Taylor Field and he must be one mean sucker as the folks in Calgary wouldn't even let him on their field!:p . Probably need to up caliber a bit - some of those .378 Weatherby's, .416 Rem Mags or maybe the new Ruger .375 that people have been discussing here lately:D
