Where are the kimbers?

I wasn't suggesting that a kimber select is not a beautiful rifle. I think they are. It's just a completely different animal.
All I was getting at is (for myself at least, can't speak for others), the reason to buy a kimber is for the ultra light weight, and weather resistance required for mountain hunting.
It always bugs me when someone is looking for information online about kimbers and ten guys chime in suggesting tikka's or what ever....it's like a guy looking for chevy 4x4 and people suggesting he considers a nissan pathfinder because that's what they like..... I guess I'm just too sensitive of a gun snob.

I’ll keep an eye out for you. What caliber?

Thanks, doesn't matter I will be rebarreling it

Chuck I can change the title to " where are the kimber Montana 84 L Stainless Steels"

Spruster I have a wood and blue (some kind of guncote) kipplauf that weighs as much as a LA mountain ascent. Variety is the spice of life

I'm honestly a bit shocked; I did not think an 84 l hunter or Montana in any chambering would be hard to find. I have found far weirder with less wtb ads

I suspect there weren’t that many sold in Canada to begin with. Once they go they are very difficult to find.

My comments earlier were directed to spritzer. Rubbing everyone’s nose in the fact that he has one that is increasing in value every day. They only way to know that is to throw it in the sale ring.

OMG .. it does bug you I have a special Kimber , the last made 280 ai in select grade ... hope your nose is OK
Conor .
I understand your mission for what you want , stay with it
The Kimber is top notch

I could care less. I’m left handed. Last time I checked, Kimber does not make a left handed rifle. That said, I have them in my home and my father has hunted with one for the last 15 or more years. If what you have is so bloody special then why do you keep talking about selling it?

I still have a hard time believing that nobody is importing them there is an obvious demand I personally like my Kimber products

I'm scared to see how much kimbers will be on new import. Even the recently gouged prices will seem good I'm guessing

I’ve got half a doz and will confirm they’re worth sniffing out. The 84l is tough to find though and I’ve only seen a few montanas over the years.
Might be easier to restock a hunter. A year ago ellwoodepps was selling ascent stocks for $300 and the last hunter I bought got dropped into it. All up I was into it for less then $1500

If push came to shove, the last rifles I would sell would be the montanas.

Check ####### too. There have been 2 84L Montana’s on there over the last year or so. I also wonder what new prices will be like . I suspect well north of $3k.

Ever since they separated the WTB from the WTS in the EE it has become a lot harder to get responses to adds. Not as much exposure now that they are in their own thread, just look at the number of views on any particular post, a fraction of what it used to be.

I do wonder, are most guys searching the wtb forum before posting? I've had some good trades (one where I traded a kimber even lol) and quick sales by doing this

I doubt it. I think the premise behind separating the two was it was getting too cumbersome to manage the ads and/or remove the dead air ones ie; those that don’t edit to “please remove” properly. If you watch and participate in most of the threads in here, you kinda get a sense of what’s avail, may become avail or someone who may be easily convinced to sell.

Then again.. the art of haggling wares seems to have been lost since CV19 hit along with supply & demand issues.

I've "cold called" a few guys over the years, none of the kimber nerds are biting lol. Seems the "advertisors" don't post as much anymore

I have bought, sold and played with quite a few Kimber’s over the years. 8400’s, 84L’s and 84m’s. Still have three right now.

Break out your cheque book, LOL! Kidding, they will be here until the end…

Well, maybe I’ll give the .223 away for a song… Hahaha, I’m kidding. Never.:p
