I've gone through all the site dealers and many more on the internet. I'm looking for a plain Jane Marlin 60 with the wood stock. Cabella's had one with the synthetic stock and Epps had a fancy laminated stock one. Everyone has Ruger 10/22's right now, but no Marlin's. Any thoughts?

A good friend of mine had to wait around six months or more to get a model 60 he had ordered.
I think their production must be behind or something, I had told him to cancel his order and give up, but he got it eventually.

They pop up on the EE now and then, you might get lucky there.

I picked up a Marlin 60 with a plain wood stock about 3 years ago for gopher shooting. I have a model 795 and like the action and the accuracy, but wanted a wood stock, so the model 60 seemed like a good choice. We then had 2 very wet summers and now there are almost no gophers to be found. The rifle has had about 150 rounds through it, is very accurate and I like it a lot, but it will sit until the gophers come back. Keep watching they come up from time to time.
