Where are the Mountain Goat stories?

Did I mention that they forgot to pump oxygen into those hills? When there's 3 oxygen molecules in the whole place and 4 guys arm-wrestling to see who gets them you know your prairie lungs are in trouble.

Ah DL, oxygen is over rated..........that's why I smoke, body's used to working without oxygen, that way having none at altitude don't bother me at all............just light up a smoke and we're good to go.

Sheep...........a little rain and you don't hunt...........I really thought better of you Sheep.......:p:p You're actually the lucky one, it never started raining on me until we were already well up in the rocks........we kept going, easier to go up cliff faces in the rain than down........don't ever let anyone tell you different !!!;)

The country we were hunting was as extreme as any I've ever been in. I'd say maybe 10% of the goats were actually accessible. You could climb straight up and descend straight down but there was no allowance for lateral movement in these mountains. The bottom of the mountain where it met the ocean was a jungle of thick alder, devil's club and huge blow downs and as it opened up as you moved higher, it turned into a deadly labyrinth of cliffs. The only way to access a goat was to spot it from the bottom and then ascend 2,000-2,500 feet straight up...a journey of 5-6 hours. If you didn't pick the route perfectly and missed the goat by a couple hundred yards, there was no way to move laterally to get closer. Being able to spot goats prior to ascending was paramount and we only got brief windows to spot. I've spent my life in the mountains and done several goat hunts but I've never seen anything that came close to the extreme nature of these mountains. It's no wonder goats grow big there.
