Where are the squirrels?

Why can't you shoot red squirrels?

While some fur bearing mammals are allowed to be harvested under a small game license, Red Squirrels are a fur bearing mammal that is subject to trapping regulations. You must have a trapper license to harvest a Red Squirrel.

I find you need to be quiet sneaking around and sit for 15 minutes every 100 yards or so to really see how many squirrels are in the bush. Many times I've walked through squirrel infested woods without seeing a single one until I start hunting them like deer and then it's game on. They're nothing like the ones in your backyard...

This is very true. Ones in my back yard I can nearly get close enough to give em a whack with a bat if I wanted too. Out in the bush, they are like ninja's and disappear when you get within half a mile.

Like I said earlier, once the leaves are gone I'm sure I'll have better luck. Visibility is still very poor in the treetops with most of the leaves still on the trees.
