Salut!

Could someone point me to a store that may still have the Norinco SKS available at a reasonable price?

Thanks for your time,

ulf

Catalog #410050

S.I.R. Mail Order has one (1) left.
(#410050 - Chinese SKS Type 56 Semi-automatic RIfle - VG@$164.99).

Sorry that I can't hotlink. (Cut, paste, and correct the dots.)

If your not in a hurry Lever is supposed to be getting a shipment this summer. I can't recommend buying from them though, worst customer service in the world.

I bought the last one from Frontier Firearms. The fellow I spoke with was helpful, friendly, and very descriptive of the product I am buying. I will let you all know how she looks when I get her.

Thanks again for all the help.

I just received the SKS today via Canada Post. It looks great now that she is all cleaned up. I am very pleased with what I received from Frontier Firearms. The whole thing came to $216.24.

I am going to see if I can find some cheap ammunition at Cabella's in North Dakota and then I'll report back on accuracy. Is anyone interested in pics?

I got a SKS from Epps this week.

All matching serial number military gun.

Nice wood. It wasn't painted with the crappy red varnish but was drenched in cosmoline. It's alot more dense than other SKS stocks I have seen.

After melting off the cosmo in the oven, it looks pretty good.

Nice trigger too (for an SKS).

Do you know how much do they sell them for? I live in Surrey, and rather not pay for shipping from sask., if it's the same price locally.

Still applying Tung oil :p

Will post a pic when done.

One thing unusual is the factory stamp.

It's this:

http://www.simonov.net/codechart.htm calls it "uncommon". Anyone have an idea?

My first rifle was an SKS (long sold), so I am trying to get a nice example going as a project.

I've seen a number of 0406 factory carbines here. Perhaps less seen in the US as these are later exports
