This is an off topic question but needs to be here because i'm looking for opinions of similar minded people (Precision shooters, f class type people)

I live in Ontario just north of Toronto. The family is considering a drastic move. We'd considering moving out of province. We're considering East cost (nova scotia), Edmonton area and B.C.

Where abouts are you and what are the plusses and minuses there, why do you live there OR where would you be if you had the choice ?

Mike

BC! Why? Because this is a very beautiful province and depending on where you live you can hunt off your back porch while looking at the scenery.

Northern ON...competition shooting is almost non-existant

hey Ice,

B.C. is where we're at and no plans on leaving. If you like mountains, lakes, the ocean, wildlife, etc.etc...this is the place to be.
The only down fall is our liquid sunshine, but you get use to it.
Where else can you go sal####er and freshwater fishing, snow skiing and water skiing all in the same day.

peace..

on second thought you may not like it here, so...... forget it, stay back east :D

I'm an hour west of Kamloops. I love it here, and you couldn't pry me outta here with a crowbar.

In general, moving west is a better bet in terms of the firearms/hunting environment. Other factors vary all over the map, depending on what you do for work, what type of landscape and weather you like, rural or urban location and so on.

I too live in BC, but am contemplating retiring to the east coast as i can afford to buy alot more property there than here.

Your property comes at a premium for a reason. I don't think I've heard of someone migrating east yet. Those that have made the trip west, stay!

I like my snowmobiling, I like my golfing, I do enjoy being close to Base Borden and shooting with the O.R.A. but I'm sure I can find shooting almost anywhere.
I have been doing Electrical work for years but got sick then couldn't find ele. work again recently. Working for a courier company (nights) right now.
I want room to keep my toys(cars, bikes, sleds etc.) Room for a dog to run.
We,ve taken an Interest in Dalhousie Univ. for the boys. One is interested in Mech. Eng. the other wants to be a marine biologist and Nova Scotia does have the school for that.

Wanna get back to my electrical work (comm.)

I live in North western New Brunswick, large hunting community but not united in any way.

If I were to win the lottery, I'd move to Alberta in a heart beat but I have no regrets living were I am now considering my current conditions.

I live in the southern ontario region too, and just from what i've heard if i was in your shoes i would 100% move to BC. They have a good population and city so it doesnt feel like your in the boonies, but they also have THE best outdoor life you can possibly imagine just outside of town. I heard lots of pretty girls as well haha

Biggest no, no would be the east (marintimes, nova scotia, etc) sorry for all you people out there but from what i heard theres just not much to do out there at all. Jobs are low unless your a fisherman, everyone just gets drunk because theres nothing to do.

Edmonton would be in between those two sorta. Except with fisheries and ocean of the east coast, u get farms.

I'm sure some heads will be shaking at this comment, but those are my opinions and what I would personally do.

It's "Maritimes", genius.

Fisheries? WTF? It's a large industry but it certainly doesn't dominate the region. Your ignorance and lack of education is shocking.

+1

And to say that Edmonton is at the top of the list.... WOW....

And honestly, have you ever BEEN to Edmonton? Farms are hardly an Edmonton staple..... Tell you what, jump back on Wikipedia, do a better job of misinforming yourself about the country you live in, pat yourself on the back AGAIN for living in Ontario; cause we all know, the first rule to being AWESOME is being from Ontario, and rethink your post....

WOW
