I live just outside Saskatoon, and am thinking about getting back into black powder shooting again. Mostly interested in patched round ball in Hawkin style rifles. I have enough soft lead around to last me several lifetimes, some molds, patch material, lube, and various other accessories. The only thing I don't have is powder or musket caps. Where are people getting that stuff? Cabela's used to sell Goex and all that last time I had a 50 cal flinter. I would just walk in and buy a lb of powder whenever I needed some. That doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone ship it anymore? I know that was always an issue. Don't want to get a rifle if it is going to be a paperweight.

Cabelas should have pyrodex if you can’t find any black if you come by Lloyd in your travels shoot me a PM I can spare some caps will swap for some pure lead

It’s hard to find traditional black powder stuff everybody’s more into John wick than Jeremiah Johnson these days

Thanks for the offer, been a few years since I was up that way. I tried the John Wick stuff, too fast for this guy. My favorite rifle was a .40 flintlock I unfortunately sold.

I did track some supplies down. But shipping is crazy, also no one place has all I need, so I am looking at $80 shipping just to get powder and caps. Found a place North of here with substitute powder and caps. My mother-in-law is driving by there Saturday so she will pick it up for me too.
