Is there anywhere aside from Wholesale Sports and Cabelas? Nobody seems to have anything in stock. I'd like Sierra 155 hpbt and would also like 175 Sierra HPBT's.

I have a box of Sierra 168 grain HPBT MatchKing in .308......Probably 95 bullets left in the box....just tried a few to check velocities....

I would consider trading them for CCI primers or other bullets in 308 or 243......

PS; I live in Wpg...

I've never had any problem with Wholesale bringing them from another location. Provided of course you're not in a hurry! It's usually been a couple/three weeks for .358 stuff.

Unfortunately, if you're a reloader in the Winnipeg area you're pretty much SOL! The new giant Cabela's store seems to have less reloading stuff then before, and WSS is pretty hit and mis!

I tried to "support local businesses" on quite a few occasions, but Cabela's doesn't do special orders and WHOLESALE does but I've had zero luck dealing with Wholesale sports. I've done 3 separate special orders with them, 1 came in wrong, the second never showed up and of course nobody there could even tell me if they ordered it. The third order was a Lee deluxe die set, which I ordered and finally got 4 months later.

You could try Macdonald sports in portage la prairie, my brother has been dealing with them and said they seem to stock a decent amount of reloading supplies.

Try wolverine, or Jobrook also.

I've pretty much been ordering from out of province and have had WAY better success doing so, last order I placed was ordered on a Tuesday and was at the post office by Friday, can't complain with that!

I've had the same experience in Winnipeg. If Wholesale has what you need in stock, great. But trying to order from Wholesale is ridiculous, and if you call to ask about your order they'll just keep telling you to call back in two weeks.

Ordering online is the way to go.

Wow sounds like Wholesale treats everyone the same!! The dies I ordered were ordered in the beginning of November, I started calling at the beginning of Dec. Every time I got "call again next week" or "they'll be in next week". Finally I asked if anyone could tell me if/when they were ordered? I was told they have no way to tell me if the order was placed.

I even had one employee there tell me "why don't you just order the dies from higginson powders?". I thought wow they are actually trying to send me to another company to buy my supplies!

Then finally at the beginning of February I got a call saying that they had my dies since the beginning of January and that if I didn't come and get them they wouldn't do any more special orders for me!!

I told the girl for wholesale that how in the he'll am I supposed to know if my order is in if nobody bothered to call me?

Since then I really don't bother shopping at either wholesale or cabelas. The only thing I buy at cabela's is .22 ammo and some powders.

Wholesale is dead to me!! I tried to deal with them but between the BS attached to ordering from them and the "gun experts" behind the counter I had enough!

I now do most of my shopping at higginson powders, they have great service, cheap shipping and my orders are usually fast!

The Winnipeg WSS has great people that always give me good service. I too have had problems with them ordering stuff in, and I have to conclude that if the staff could do anything about it, they would. The problem must lie elsewhere.

I made a special trip into wpg a couple weeks back, I needed a wack of supplies, and went to the new cabella's, HOLY SMOKES MAN, was I ever disappointed! I needed .308 and .224, for my 22-250, and .223, and while I was able to find some .308 stuff that would work, the .224 stuff was pretty scarce. And try and buy powder! I asked for ONE pond of Varget, and the girl says she has to see if there is any, 20 minutes later they finally found me one. Oh, and the usual large rifle primers wern't in stock either! WTF happened to Cabella's? I dunno, maybe i'll give them a couple months to smooth out the edges, for now it's back to wholesale sports, for now, I guess. Maybe ill head into Portage and try that place out mentioned in this thread, next time I drive through there for work. ;-)

Ginnz.

I have had trouble finding what I need in Winnipeg too.

I order my bullets from Londero Sports in QC. I order 500 bullets at a time min. and shipping is usually $14. ww. acrinter.com

the shipping cost if offset because the Berger bullets I get are $10 a box cheaper from Londero than they are at WSS

If I am going to Brandon I always go to Jo-Brook and see what they have. Good inventory and better pricing than WSS or Cabellas

Don't get me wrong there's a couple of "real gun guys" that work at WSS in Winnipeg, I always make a point of saying hello to them if they happen to be there. they're good guys and I can see their passion about firearms.

But it seems and maybe it's just my opinion that the guys that work there are on the lazy side of the fence. I've been there and asked about an order and the guy didn't even check he just said, call next week, but i knew that they just got an order and chances were that my stuff was there. The joke is I went their 2 days later talked to another guy and he was like "your stuff was here last week, nobody called you?".

Right there is the problem with WSS, the left hand never knows what the right hand is doing it seems!

But that being said WSS has a way better selection of everything except guns when compared to the new fancy cabela's.

I may have to swallow my pride and start shopping at WSS again but I'll only buy what they have in stock.
