Where Buy an Etcher to put my SIN on my Milsurps?

I have a rank, name and service number on a magazine of my PPK. I thought it meant a vet bring back.
I looked it up and no such number sequence was used in WW2. My theory it was someone who stored it in some unit armory and he was told to put his rank, name, service #.

That might be the best idea. They could do DNA analysis on the blood stains to return it to the rightful owner. You just have to make sure you get your DNA onto one of the registries.

Had DNA testing been widely available in the 1990s, perhaps Allen Rock would have added it to the firearms act and built a databank of legal gun owners to aid in crime detection. All costs would be borne by the fees charged for registration. After all, it it saved just one life, it would be worth it.

Don't lazer etch....there are some really nice letter punches out there.Nice deep letters with some white paint....mmmmmmm gives it that "pop" look!!

Try a Hilti(powder activated tool for construction)nail. It's point is made of very strong metal that should etch your info in it well. Do you have a steady hand?

Why etch when you could do it with a welder?

Sadly SIN carved gems have passed through here...

You guys just don't appreciate the product of a steady hand and a sharp eye. Where I come from, it's part of the firearm's history and adds to patina.

If anything, it adds to the resale value over some pristine gun that was probably restored or touched up.

I particularly like the added phillips-head screw on this 94 commemorative. Adds to the ambiance.

As an aside, while googling the above photos, I cam across this. Holy cow. Hard to believe someone actually killed a police officer with these things in some kinda "bubba's evil twin" incident.
