Hey guys

As the title states I'm looking for an after market stock. I like the Bell And Carlson stocks but I have yet to find a dealer in Canada and would really like to see what other brands are out there. I've checked the EE but came up short.

Does anyone know of any stores/websites in Canada preferably but not a deal breaker if it's not where I can find a decent selection of stocks for my rifle?

Thanks for any help given.

I believe that Remington deals in B&C stocks to Canada through their Canadian distributor. There is very small stock on hand at the dist. Most stocks needs to be ordered. You should be able to get one from your Remington dealer. If not try Shane at Relaible in Vanc. where I got mine.

"...any stores/websites in Canada..." Most Canadian stock makers are so busy they don't have time for web sites.
"...what other brands are..." Do a net search for Rem M700 stocks or custom rifle stocks. Either should turn up hordes of sites. Decide how much money you want to spend first. There shoudn't be any border issues.
Just remember that an SPS is an entry level rifle, not a high end target rifle. Just changing the stock will not make it shoot better and you'll likely have some fitting to do as well. Drop in stocks are prettier, but not better.

@sunray, I'm not too concerned about the esthetics of the stock and I realize the tier of rifle that it is, it's more so for ergonomics and being comfortable. I'm not a small guy(6ft, 240lbs)so I'd like to find one that I could adjust. I'm used to using a pistol grip on a rifle(C7) so that would be the main feature I'm looking for.

Thanks for the help guys

I would take a look at the MDT LSS chassis system. They are available in Canada, at a fair price. The chassis is 400.00, then you need a buffer tube, butt stock, grip and magazine. I wish I had seen this before adding the HS Precision stock to my 700 SPS Tactical.

That being said, I may have a stock for sale soon ;)

Yeah, if you want a pistol grip the MDT LSS chassis is a good option. I'm still in the process of putting mine together, but I'm really liking it so far.

Took my SPS tactical (308 cal ) in a MDT LSS to the range today for the first time and its great. I found it very comfortable and it functioned perfectly.
The 10 round AI mags I got from MDT loaded well and ran smoothly.

I used a CTR butt stock with a 1/4 cheek riser , I have a 3/4 inch riser ordered and it should work better.

Nice chalk glad you picked one up as well! I had a chance to play with hungrys the other day and what a sweet rig! By far the most conveiant way to get a mag feed and pistol grip on a Remington. I think I might have to pick one up.

There's also the AICS through Wolverine, but I'm a small guy and the chassis feels small for me, it might feel like a toy to you.
The Choate is a large feeling stock and readily available, see above;). I believe it has an aluminum bedding block but not sure if it's adjustable.

I have one on order from this site

At least a 4 month wait so hopefully I get it the beginning of December. I ordered the vertacle grip varmint tactical (non adjustable) and it cost a little less than 350 shipped to my door direct from bell and carlson factory. I also e mailed mcmillan about their specials stocks. They are extras they have in stock and ready to ship. They informed me that they ship to canada as well. Just about took the A5 adjustable for 650 but decided that if too many stocks show up in the mail the wife will get suspicous. Let me tell ya it might seem like a good idea at the time, but waiting 4 months sucks. If I did it over again I think I would try a Choat from mystic precision. They seem to get good reviews.

If you are looking for a Bell and Carlson stock, I had a real good experience dealing with Red Hawk rifles out of Colorado (http:// www.redhawkrifles.com). No hoops to jump through like some other websites, great prices, and reasonable shipping with USPS. Until someone in Canada starts stocking them, this seems to be your best bet for getting one of these stocks.

+1. They had most models in stock (no pun intended) and got mine in a week! :)

Should of bought from Redhawk. $275 shipped is less than those guys sell the stock for. And one week wait instead of almost half a year. I'd cancel the order if I could and call Redhawk.

I know your rght, wish I would have known about red hawk when I was looking. I've had my ptg bottom metal and AI 10 round mag and cheek rest waiting for months and now I'm leaning towards the MDT LSS. Might have some NIB parts on the EE shortly. Or maybe I should just buy another rifle :)
