where can I buy a M&P sear housing block?

The one in his photo is the mag disconnect lever.

sorry but you're wrong. I did some research and if your m&p has the white letters on the side that say "CAUTION CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED" then you do not have the mag disconnect. M&P's that came in range kits don't have the mag disconnect.

There you go and you are correct. So what is it you don't want? The gun you have has only the safety in the trigger and all of the M&P's have it. To my knowledge there are only two styles of blocks made. The earlier verion had a smaller diameter sear spring while the newer version has a larger sear spring installed. The guns with manual safeties have the safety lever entering the sear block on the left side of the gun but your gun doesn't have a manual safety.

Do you want a mag safety aka a mag disconnect installed?

No Bob. I want a hole for the apex RAM, I think the proper name for the hole is called a hillary hole. and read my previous post in this thread. there are like 5 diff types of sear blocks.

Here is the Armorers Manual for the M&P. You might want to download it and print it out for reference. What is an "integral safety "? I have heard of the mag disconnect, trigger safety and manual safety but never the "integral safety". When you refer to five different versions of sear blocks are you referring to the make up of the contents or the block itself. The only change I know of to the sear block itself has been the enlargement of the sear spring hole and the use of a larger spring. You picture of yor sear earlier in the thread appears to have the hole for the Apex ram. I installed the Ram in my FS model and it was purchased 2007.

Here is the link on how to install the RAM. Your block appear to have the hole for the RAM. In your picture does the round hole just to the left of the yellow lever go right through the block? If so you should be good to go.

While the RAM does allow for the pusing forward of the trigger manually to reset the sear if the trigger spring breaks the increase in audible sound of the reset is pretty small. Of all the products sold by Apex the RAM IMHO is the least beneficial but some may find it useful.

The M&P has never been offered with a locking mechanism similar to the S&W revolvers. Your M&P has a plastic plug in the frame where the manual safety is inserted on models with a manual safety. The hole in the sear block opposote to the hole in the frame is where the manual safety would reside. The RAM is installed in the hole meant for the manuals safety.

Actually, there was an M&P with what S&W called the ILS - this is just like the revolver locks, put the key in the gun and turn. Made for sale to the civillian market in Commie fornia - like the 10 lb trigger bar for Mass, just another stupid idea brought to you by the fartile minds of liberals. The square plugs in the frame are for the safety lever, the small round ones in early models are for the ILS.

Good to know. All my M&P frames have the round plug for the manual safety lever. The M&P is becoming the lego gun. I had to write down the serial numbers of the frames to ensure I get the top ends on the right frames. The latter go from stock to Apex Comp., to Apex FSS to PRO internals. I think if I had to do it all over again I woul djust instal the Apex USB. It really is the part that plays the larget part in smoothing out the trigger.
