Where Can I buy a wood Remington 870 pistol grip?

I saw one on ebay that looked like a speedfeed witness protection only it was wood......never seen any others for sale.
Probably a custom item.

Pretty easy to make one using a beat up old wood stock you just need to figure out how to resize the hole so it will except a shorter bolt.

I'm going to do mine by gluing in a wooden dowel that has been machined for the bolt but it would be easy to fill the hole with a metal epoxy and coat a bolt with release agent to form a mold.....

I think the shooting edge might be a dealer for that sort of thing. they are also a CGN sponsor.

Maybe it is just an old wives tale, but I have heard a few who said that a wood pistol grip will not hold together under recoil?

A birds head grip will hold fine. If you make a real pistol grip, then watch the wood grain, so it's lined up along the long axis of the grip. Better still would be to make a laminate pistol grip.

Here is a prototype I made a few months ago...I screwed up the geometry a bit so I didn't finish it. My intent is to make one out of walnut laminate when I have the time. Not hard to make if you're a bit handy with basic woodworking tools, the only power tools used were a small press drill and a jigsaw.
