I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question, so please feel free to move it accordingly.

So here it is. Who sells these bullets that will lap your bore and improve accuracy?

Cabelas lists them but will not send them to Canada and I don't seem to find a distributor o reseller for them.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

What caliber are you looking for? FS

Am I posting in the wrong place or is it that these kits are not imported into Canada?

Just as reference these kits consists of 50 bullets covered in different grit abrasive compounds that polish the barrel. According to the David Tubb web page, these kits will improve accuracy in a substantial manner. They come in bullets only for reloading or as finished ammo..

Thanks again for any information as to where to get them in Canada.

I ordered directly from David Tubb last fall. He shipped to Canada.

Thank you OKTREE for your reply, I will place an order with Tubb directly then. I thought this kind of components could not be exported to Canada.

Have you had the chance to try this? Have you had the expected results?

Thanks for the information guys. I have contacted Tubb and they can sell the bullets to Canada, no problem. Also, another gunnutz has let me know that he has a kit that he is willing to sell to me.

Now I just need to know if this kit gives the results it advertizes. So, if anyone has tried it, please let me know how it worked out for you. I'm concerned if this will affect the throat in any way.

I purchased a David Tubb kit in 6mm and one in 7.62mm. I have used the 6mm kit. I would speak to the teck regarding use. I used my 6mm kit after my rifle had 700 rounds down the barrel. I used all of the "#1" grit bullets, when according to the teck I should only have used 1/2 of the #1 after 700 rounds.

I used the 6mm kit on a Savage 12F in 6mm BR. I shoot Moly bullets in all of my guns, cleaning the 6BR every 300 rounds or so. I did not notice a difference in accuracy before and after the kit. I also did not notice increased ease in cleaning. I would not use again on a 700 round barrel. The bore scope did not indicate a visual difference.

That said, I am waiting on a 6.5mm firelapping kit from Necos to be used on a new project. I think firelapping is great for a factory finished barrel, but would not use on a good quality custom. I use JB Borepaste in the throat only of new custom barrels.

I've used them for one of my .300 WSMs (have two Rem700 XCRs). Cannot say if it improved the accuracy (did not test before-use and after-use accuracy). However, it seems to have made cleaning "easier". I shoot Barnes bullets which have a reputation for quickly following barrels. The XCR broken-in with Final Finish cleans faster/easier then the XCR broken-in using the "traditional" method.
y XCR/Final Finish gun is more accurate, but I cannot definitively credit Final Finish for that - this gun has a Lighter trigger, better scope, and bolt lugs lapped.

That said, if you google Final Finish, a guy posted an article detailing three things he did in order to improve the accuracy of a poorly shooting "scout" .308 (trigger work, Final Finnish, and something else). The Final Finish work led to largest gain in accuracy.

One of the guys around here who built custom rifles used it. He has passed on, but hi son says that guns that wouldn't shoot they used Tubbs stuff on, and the results were always dramatic. Sounds like it was used several times, always with great success.

Are these not considered reloading components? How are they able to ship them to Canada? Or am I out to lunch in thinking that I couldn't order bullets from the US?

Mine showed up today. Have to do some reloading and hopefully get out this weekend with them. They sent me their catalog too. Lots of goodies in there.
