So I was installing a jumbo safety on my shotgun and lost my safety detent spring. The little spring that pushes down the plunger ball. The little bastard jumped out when my punch slipped out of my greasy hands when I was re-installing the detent pin. Anyone know where I can buy a new one?

Side note; did anyone else have fitment issues with the S&J Hardware jumbo safety for the 870 in a Norinco HP9?

Canadian tire or any other auto parts place that sells small compression springs. One little pack of springs from those places will cost a fraction of what one spring will cost you from a gunsmith!

As long as it is the right diameter, length (you can be trim to fit) and aprox the same or lighter compression it will work just fine! On just about all of my newer 870s I have replaced the springs with lighter compression ones. Not only did Remington lawyer proof the triggers but now they seem to do the same with the safeties and install springs that are much stiffer than necessary.

Search F17514 on Brownells if you want to go that route.

Can't comment on the HP9, but I had no issues with the S&J jumbo safety on my Grizzly.

I had to file a little bit off the back of my trigger to be able to put the safety back on without pushing the trigger forward but it was a quick job so no biggie for me. The jumbo safety rocks!
