So with no luck finding any chromite or zircon locally (except a nice offer of 2205lbs of chromite for $800 from a local supplier, eek!!) I did have an offer from a gent in Ontario but shipping was going to be crazy. So when all else failed I found myself with a 55lbs sack of 80 grit Garnet blast media. It isn't as heavy as the other two at a weight of 148/ft3 but still 48% heavier then sand so that's good for now. It has an angular grain profile as well so it locks up nice. The feeling under my bags is kinda like really stiff plasticine so it molds well around my butt stock and fore end. So all in all I'm not totally disappointed! But will see this weekend after a visit to the range. Cheers and thanks again for all the help.
