I am looking for a Canadian source for Knoxx Industries shotgun stocks so I don't have to put up with the border BS. I've gone on the Knoxx site but that was no help. Can someone direct me? Thanks.

Questar and The Shooting Edge both sell them. Both are sponsers of the site.

It will probably come down to which one is closer to you... looks like Calgary (TSE!).

Ordered a bunch from Shooting Edge too. Nice people, good place to order from.

I was quite disappointed with the knoxx Specops. Works great for light stuff but it feels like it's digging right into my shoulder with slugs and buckshot. IMO the R3 has it beat for comfort, if it weren't for the pistol grip I would put my R3 back on.

The medium sized Hi Viz X-coil recoil pad lines up with the screw holes on the spec ops. Just take off the spec ops recoil pad and use those screws for the Hi Viz pad. Since I wasn't using any spacers or brackets, I also put some plastic weld epoxy on before I screwed on the X-coil just to fill the gap.

~100 rounds of 3"/2.75" slugs and no problems, plus it's night and day difference compared to the hard knox "pad".

I didn't check to see if the large size Hi Viz pads line up with the screw holes, so you can try that one too if you need a bigger pad.

Here's after pics:

I've used both. Imo for birdshot the R3 feels better, for buckshot and slugs the X-Coil wins due to its denser material that deadens all shock. I'm leaving the R3 on the factory stock buttstock in case I shatter the spec ops someday.:runaway:
ymmv.

A concern I have as well, I am curious to know how much abuse they can take.

I wouldn't worry. We had one of the very first Comp Stocks used on our range gun. It was broken on a shotgun course three years ago. While talking to the Knoxx folks about this 6 months ago, they were shocked. They said their stocks should not break and replaced it without further questions. They seem to think that their stocks should outlast the gun.

Redleg already advised me that it would fit Mossbergs, although there is one version of Mossberg guns it won't fit, but haven't figured what a 500(D) is.

Mossberg made a model with a double action only trigger group:rolleyes:

They don't work so swell with the Spec-Ops model.
