where can i get a .22lr revolver?

I have a colt officers model match in 22 it sat in the gun vault in edmonton cabelas for a year with me admiring it. when my year in edmonton was done it was still there and came to b.c. with me. I might have paid too much but that doesn't matter it's great and will always remind me of my year in YEG. Look for one used in good shape even import one through gun broker and one of the import guys.

My OMM has become a safe queen just because I don't want to wreck the 'pretty' in any way! Astorarms has one for $875 I believe. Waaaay overpriced considering it has butt-ugly smooth home-made looking grips on it. I snatched up mine mainly because of the full-checkered factory walnut grips with medallions intact.

Keep your eyes open for an old S&W Model 17. They seem to show up regularly in the Equipment Exchange.

They show up regularly, and disappear quickly.

If you see a .22 S&W revolver and it hasn't been marked SPF in under an hour, either the seller hasn't edited the ad. yet or the price is too high. This is one gun that people don't mind over-paying for, so pending condition most sell eventually, but any that are close to decently priced are gone in a flash.

What do you have against the Ruger Single-Six?

There are plenty available. The price is very good. They are very well built.

And let's face it;
If you bought a double-action revolver, you'd probably be shooting in single-action mode 99% of the time anyways.

Gotta agree with this.

Just bought a Single 10 in stainless myself, and will be buying a DA revolver in .357 mag.

Waiting for a used 4 inch GP, or S&W to hit the EE at the right price. ;)

If he is looking for a quality DA revolver they are not so easy to find.

I don't know where you guys think they are in stock, but I have been looking at these for the last month and the only .22 revolvers in abundance ar SA Rugers, or Taurus, and I hear nothing but nightmares with the Taurus products.

Problem is the only quality .22 DA revolvers are Smiths and Ruger SP101's and the Smiths are $1000 and the Ruger Sp101 is unubtanium.

Would love to get my hands on a Ruger Sp101

I can't remember the last time I shot my K-22 in single action.

That being said, Ruger is the way to go if you want a .22 single action and don't mind the slow process of loading and ejecting fired cases.

IMHO, a used SW 17 is the way to go. They don't wear out as they are full K frames and they hold/appreciate their value.

The next time one comes up on the EE for less than $600, buy it at the asking price. You won't regret it.

I don't shoot it in SA much but I was testing different ammo. SA, off a rest at 25 yards.

Picked this one on the EE, great revolver!
But like it has been said, you must be fast to say I'll take it,
or it is sold before you know it.

The old Colts are good guns. If you get an Officer's Model or Officer's Model Match, they will probably not be cheap, but are good. 22's last for years if looked after, I have an Officer's Model I bought used in the 1950's. A long barrel Official Police is good too. Some of the old H&R's etc. are surprisingly good pistols.

You mean the gun dealer? All they've got are the ruger single-sixes. What I really want is a cz75 cadet adapter kit, impossible to find so i thought i'd look for a DA revolver.

Yes, that is what I was referring to. Did you ask Ross if he can get you one?

I was looking at an old .45 Colt Army ball and cap.. I would love to get into black powder, but I just don't know enough, and that revolver can blow your hand off if you do it wrong.
