where can I get hollow points in 45ACP in Canada?

If you have a rifle chambered in that caliber you might be able to get some somewhere.

In Canada hollow point bullets are prohibited in centerfire handgun ammunition and that may make it almost impossible to find.

 ...... after reading some other posts I find out the hollow point ammo law has changed........

I always had a .44 mag rifle and handgun so I was not aware or the change.

Are you on crack? Hollow point handgun ammunition are in no way prohibited from buying, owning and shooting them in your handgun, etc.
I have some .45ACP +P JHP's for sale if you only want a few boxes.
Hollow point ammo is only prohibited from personal importation, although it seems most businesses can import it if it's been certified by the canadian explosives people.

Crack is not from my generation, probably your age group. For most of the last 40 years it was against the law to shoot hollow point centerfire ammunition in a handgun. If you had a rifle in the same caliber you could possess it with no problem. Obviously the law has changed recently.

No probs... Sorry for the crack comment, even I know how hard it is to keep up with all the damn firearm laws!!!

I apologize for the crack comment.

P&D got a whole wack of 45 ACP HP in stock. Just bought and shoot Win White Box 230g. JHP. $26 for 50 rounds. Excellent feeding in my TRP.

"...For most of the last 40 years it was against the law to shoot hollow point centerfire ammunition in a handgun..." Who told you that? HP's in handguns were considered evil under the Explosives Act, for several years in the 1990's, as I recall, but certainly not for the past 40 years. Somebody has been leading you astray.

I thought when I bought my first .44 mag handgun in the early 60's I was told hollow point ammo was not legal in it....

Perhaps I was wrong but it was no big deal to me at that time... you could not legally carry it hunting as most of us did anyway.

Maybe I am wrong about 40 years... maybe it was only since 1990... perhaps I was led astray 40 years ago.... but it doesn't really matter.....

Apparently that law is not in effect anymore for what that is worth..

Crack apology accepted - no problem here.
My apologies to all I confused.
I'm out of this thread.

Digging up the grave yard, I saw this post.

Anyone know where I can get 185gr +P JHP .45 AUTO, preferably online? (As a side note, when I asked my local hunting shop, they where like "Um, and would you like Teflon coated bullets as well..." in a sarcastic tone.

Edit: I'm not into reloading yet, but thinking about it!
