Where can I get my Norinco M14 swapped to USGI bolt ..

USGI bolts come up from time to time in the EE.

Swapping the bolt is pretty straight forward, fitting it properly.... Not so much. But defiantly do-able with a decent understanding of how parts fit and work together.

The big question is, will it actually improve headspace in your rifle.....

Lately, what with the scarcity of USGI bolts, I generally only recommend swapping if a new short chambered barrel is also installed. USGI bolts generally cost $350+ lately....

My $.02

Onebarfly figures it will drop right in.

There's also some commercial options. LRB, Fulton, Springfield etc.

And there are some Norcs they will drop right into, depending on the current headspace.

fulton will screw you over royally-it was him that first generated the soft bolt b/s in the first place to serve his own interests- you're better off getting a usgi- and until you get your headspace checked with asset of 7.62x51( NOT 308 WIN)- THERE IS A DIFFERENCE- I have 3 real USGI m14s( I got a 12(3) and the bolts will NOT travel between rifles- THIS IS A MYTH- you need to have the bolts fitted by someone who knows what they're doing-and the BEST thing to do is get a hold of TACTICAL TEACHER AND SEND HIM 3 SPENT CASES- that guy has forgotten more about the m14 than you and I will ever know- it other words it may be an UNNECESSARY exercise

Do you want the cheap answer or the expensive answer? Sometimes it may not be worth the swap. Many variables come into play! You sure you want the go down that rabbit hole?

Choose the blue pill or the red pill!

Cheers,
Barney

Call Nikolai Vulcan Gun Refinishing. Him installing capitalist bolt for shortening of headspace. Much pleasure and happiness for having.
