Thanks!!!

Unless you're looking to build a C7 clone, there are much better combat optics available for less money than the Elcan.

I don't know that it is a good idea to buy an expensive sight because you like the looks of one.
If you do some research, you will find that there are a lot of folks who do not think highly of Elcans.
Then again, perhaps you are familiar with the Elcan, as well as other sights.

Yes, the Gen 4 has an extra spring that helps the sight maintain zero...
Having said that, windage and elevation are still in the mount, so caveat emptor.

To the OP, Armament Technologies is the distributor, they may be willing to sell to you direct.

I like Elcan, I'm looking at the Specter DR, it's like a suped up version of what the troops use.

Illuminated red dot OR crosshairs!!! X1 OR X4 magnification!!! :D

About $1800!!!

I dunno, but I really like it...

Oh.... I know Target Sports Centre has the SpecterDR, maybe thay can order the
SpecterOS3.4x?

If you've got that kind of cash to spend, kick in a few extra bucks and you've got yourself an S&B Short Dot! Much better optic and will hold its value.

:agree: The Short Dot is what the pros choose when they have a choice, sometimes they choose it even when they have to pay for it themselves.

If you have some patience, then you might be able to find a good deal on one in the EE. I picked a '91 era optic (I think, at least according to the serial#) a while back and it easily holds zero, but its used only on a range.

That being said I absolutely hate the C79. Just a bad overall design. I've already broken 2 so far, and have seen a bunch go down on a PWT. Granted they are older optics, but still they should have faired better.

I haven't played with the short dot yet, but it has lots of great reviews. Acogs are another option. They are a great optic, its crosshairs are alot more usefull than the Elcans thick post and stadia lines.

My first reaction was similar....

WHY OH WHY would people want the Elcan that many a troop don't care for.

Yeah, unless you are a collector I don't know why you'd shell out a good amount of coin for something the folks who get it for free don't even like.

I got my c79 refurbed (gen 4 base, redone coating) from Armament Tech, Elcan passed me off to them when I inquired about it. (1/2 price, not bad) Great shape, and it's been working well. The reticle doesn light up, but hey... I'm not shooting anything at night with my AR anyhows. PM me and I'll give you the email of the guy there I delt with, he was fantastic.
