Say an individual is exempted, other than GP, where would one find a handgun for sale in this day and age?

Do retailers still carry them? And if exempted, is it possible to import one?

I'm sorry if this has been asked but I almost feel like it's taboo to talk about it here since CGN even removed the pistols EE which I don't really get.

From the RCMP website:

Exempt groups

Effective December 15, 2023, an individual is only eligible to acquire and import a handgun if they:

  1. hold an Authorization to Carry for personal protection or lawful occupation (working in a remote wilderness area or trapping); or
  2. train, compete or coach in a handgun shooting discipline that is on the programme of the International Olympic Committee or the International Paralympic Committee, and the individual provides a letter to a chief firearms officer from a provincial or national sport shooting governing body indicating:
    1. that the individual trains, competes or coaches in such a discipline;
    2. the specific discipline in which the individual trains, competes or coaches; and
    3. that the handgun that the individual seeks to acquire is necessary for training, competing or coaching in that specific discipline.
Businesses are allowed to acquire and register handguns provided that they have the appropriate privileges on their firearms licence to acquire handguns (restricted and/or prohibited).

In order to import a handgun, a business, or an individual who qualifies for an exemption, requires an Import Permit issued by Global Affairs Canada. For information, please contact the Export Controls Operations Division of Global Affairs Canada at: 343-203-4331.

For further information, please consult the Public Safety Canada website.

You find them wherever you can find them. It has become rather weird. You can post a wtb on gp too.

Some retailers do carry handguns, but the lists are kept private for those who can show they have exemptions.

Importation is possible, yes.

Most stores have inventory still, call and explain your exempt status to a manager and what you're looking for. Might get even better luck at auction in Canada listing them still.

If you are a normal Joe then Jamal on the corner would be your best bet. Very streamlined transfer process (just pass him a wad of notes) - much less rigid than the Government process previously.

Don't worry about the serial number being a little chewed up. Totally normal now.

SFRC auctions. You pay, they hold onto it, and in the event handguns are ever available again they send them to you. There's actually some very good deals to be had, but sadly I don't think we'll ever have the opportunity again so I'll keep my money for ammo.

Ohh that's interesting. I've been ignoring their e-mails. I wonder what I may have missed.
That's an interesting business model. Sell a handgun and storage fees haha. Only in Canada

Mine all fell outta the boat, but it is an interesting take on the current situations. If I had more money, and any belief we'd actually regain a right to own them id be all over the auctions. Many are going WELL below value.

Pretty much nowhere if you weren't fortunate enough to have some before the retards in Ottawa took control you're out of luck. Your best bet is vote conservative at the next election. And support all gun lobbies to return Common Sense legislation back to where it was prior to the idiots did I mention in Ottawa
