Where can you get some linotype alloy?

I got 65lbs of pewter, in ingots, sitting under my bench. On a side note. Got some really hard mystery lead where the ingots had a real grainy, rough exterior. Mixed 50/50 with pure it cast smooth and shiney. The hardness tester indicated it was around 19 bhn after 3 days.
 
Last Fall, the lady down the street from me bought an old newspaper publisher's house. She gave me somewhere between 100-150 lbs. of linotype print material. I also have several 15-20 lb. bars from another old printer guy from Regina. Occasionally, I will cast a run of bullets for my .30, .303, and 8mm rifles. I usually add a bit of lino to each batch. Most of my shooting with those rifles is with reduced loads using Unique or 700X, so no lino necessary.

I have always just tumbled my WW bullets in Lee Liquid Alox, then seated a gas check in a Lee sizer die, the tumbled them again. If I make the lino added type, I do the same lube and size procedure, then apply a bit of blue lube to each bullet grooves with my fingers.

Pretty high tech stuff, but it has worked fine for me for a lot of years. :)

I have bought from Purity Casting Alloys in Surrey, both lead and the Lyman standard. They will make up whatever you want. Just tell them the percentages.
 
I've bought Lyman #2 from Rotometals in the States but also bought pure lead from Purity Alloys in Surrey. I believe they have other alloys and the people were good to deal with.
