Where did all the Weatherby Mark V Deluxes go?

Seems like the last few years there haven’t been many Weatherby Mark V Deluxes on the ee. 10 years ago you could find excellent condition guns in a variety of calibers and generations from W. Germany/Japan/USA.

I guess the collectors bought them all….

They are around, however, the tupperware stocks are more popular, sad. A person would have an increase chance of finding a used deluxe, than a new one. New Mark V deluxes are most expensive, over $3,000. I remember back in the early 1980's, a Mark V deluxe cost $600, today, a Vanguard deluxe is $1,200 or more, HUTS!!! Best of luck locating one.

They come up pretty often but sit a long time at a reasonable price. Not to long ago they were about the nicest production rifle out there and kind of a status symbol. I think a lot of guys are resigned to keeping them forever and let the estate deal with it rather than sell their prize for the cost of a new plastic and painted gun.

I think you’re right starvin, when I bought mine in ‘13 - an NRA excellent condition 1974 Japanese.300- I paid $1100. Was an estate gun. Great value I figured. Put an FX2 x6 on it and it’s my go to deer rifle on the plains.
