Miss the C1 but do not miss the C2 (which I ended up carrying more often than not). It's been many years... so at the risk of sounding like an idiot my recollection is that we were issued with the 30 round mags (not 20 as per C1) - which were just a bit too long to keep out of the dirt if you were firing up a hill, we had the pleasure of wearing a 'bra' for the C2 mags (vs. C1 pouches on the webbing). The bi-pod spontaneously 'deployed' during pepper-potting and at other inconvenient times (remincent of those embarrasing adolescent erections...), and you didn't want to grab that barrel without the forestock (see 'inconvenient' above). As for being out of control on rock-and-roll.. they were - heavier barrel & bipod aside, not much more effective than a runaway C1 that's decided to go full auto. Of course being the C2 'gunner' wasn't nearly as bad as being the guy next door in the hot-casing hail storm.
