We are doing up a moose head tonight to take to a potluck at our church tomorrow.

Someone else has already cooked the nose. Stay tuned for some of the most delicious eating you have ever had.

Moose nose is something of a delicacy among Northern Indigenous people.

I can't speak to if it tastes like sea turtles, but it definitely tastes like moose nose. I'm a pretty adventurous eater, but I can't say I'm a fan.

Cheeks are usually pretty good meat. I bet the head will make good gravy

Seems like the tongue/brain is gone too.

So, after all, how do you prepare or use it. Chicken noodle soup?

That picture speaks a thousand words.
I get away with lots around here but I’d have to send my wife out before I prepared that on her cookie sheets.

Never eated the full head of an animal. I've cut the tongues out of deer, but it seemed like a lot of work for the amount of meat I got. Tasted fine was just a hassle. Would definitely save moose tongue as I hear there's a decent amount of meat.

Before, I was throwing away the head but since I tried/ tasted the yummy soup, snout, tongue, lips and skin of an elk head that my friend cooked, I’m now also cooking the head of the game heads I’m hunting. I just add ginger, garlic, black pepper, onion bulb and bay leaf and it taste yummy to me. You can say/ react what ever you want to say but when it comes to food we are eating we should respect each other.

I have no problems to eat animal heads or what's within them. During my youth, we even kept the blood to make blood sausage with tongue and blood sausage with fat pieces.

The head was split in half then cooked in water with spices (not roasted) to make "Schweinskopfsuelze" (head cheese). The cheeks were taken off prior to boiling the head because slow braised cheeks in red wine sauce with homemade Spaetzle are delicious.

Any excess bit of head meat was ground together with the liver to make "Leberwurst" (liver sausage) one of my all time favourite if prepared that way to this day...
