So I am not a huge fan of the plastic stock on my M14s....ick.

Where in Canada can I buy a Boyds stock?

Or any other maker of nice wood M14 stocks??

Also Nooblet question... M1 garand, M1A, M14, M14s, M305, Socom 18....all the say stock aye???

You can order direct from Boyd's. I'm not aware of a Canadian retailer.

M1 Garand stocks are not the same as M1A/M14/M305 stocks.

I ordered from boyds both the stock and wood rail, be ready for a supplementary border tax that you need to pay upon receipt it was around 40$ in my case.

"...From Boyds not unless..." No M-14 parts without the U.S. export permit, regardless of the value. As mentioned, M1A's are not M-14's. Any stock will need a bit of fitting. And if you have to fit it, you might as well glass bed it at the same time. There's a free how-to in the M14 & M1 Garand Accurizing manual here. Note the need for the provided UN & PW. Add the W's.

No fitting required on the action on this one at all. I did need to drill out the upper buttplate screw hole a bit, it was too small in diameter. Getting the stock liner screws lined up was a bit of a PITA, too.

Looks nice, but you do have to fit the stock slightly. You can see in your pictures where the back inch of the op rod guide track of the receiver (just under the windage knob) is sitting on the extra wood you need to file away to allow the whole right side of the receiver as well as the heel of the receiver to sit flush with the stock. It's a simple fix.

Does your's pass the hammer-follow test like that?
