Where do i get a sling?

Hi. Im looking for a nice leather sling for my Sako. I prefer a wide leather one but am having problems finding a nice one. I Was in the process of getting a local saddle maker to make me one but he seems a bit unreliable .

You can also check on e bay. They usually have quite a few listed. I 'bought' a wide one a few months ago, brand new, high quality leather for 99 cents.

If you don't mind ordering one from Ontario, Williams arms had some leather Sako slings in last time I was there.

Leather is "nice" but not practical. If you are going to go hunting, get one with rubber underside so it stays on your shoulder. Leather is slipperier that hell and you will curse it.

Leather Sling

If you get a leather sling, make sure there is a suede or rubber backing.

I use a padded nylon sling on my Browning-hunting jacket, there is a piece of soft rubber sown into the top of each shoulder to prevent the sling from slipping. Nice touch, someone came up with that little idea, nothing drastic just finding a simple solution to a common problem. That way you can pick any kind of sling and not worry about it slipping off.

Wholesale Sports, and SIR must have Sako slings and there are some members on GunNutz that do leather work.
Also check out eBay as some of the other members suggested, you just have to keep checking to find what you want.

I like to use detachable sling swivels with locking devices on my slings.

If you find a good quality Sako sling let me know, as I need a couple for mine.

Im gonna call Williams Arms tomorrow . I would like a Sako sling if its half decent and wide over the shoulder. If i find something half decent i will get a chunk of neoprene sewn under the top of the sling.
The rubber sewn over the shoulder would be great.

Try to buy one that is 100% one piece. I had one that was stiched, fall apart while pounding a gravel road. Gun didn't like that...

I like good quality leather. But to each their own.

Williams arms has them (sako slings) but they are too narrow for my liking.1.5 inch at its widest point. Too narrow.
