buying the SP101 and would like to get some speed loaders for it.

I see a couple of options, the 5Star and then SpeedBeez.

can I just buy and bring across with me or do I have to find a CDN importer?

danke! :)

I wouldn't depend on a forum (as good as CGN is) to determine whether you would be ITAR compliant.

You may want to call or email Sandy Monranville at Brownell's (and then order from them) with specific items and she can advise where these fall under ITAR. I suspect that an end-user certificate is all that may be required, but they do a great job at Brownell's working with Canadians to ensure proper import permits and docs are in place.

^^ Great advice Sandy will advise and even assist..

hey FE, SFDJ, you're right...but in the off chance that someone had actually ordered either item direct or indirectly, would have also answered my question. :)

I'll send an email to Sandy at Brownell's and see what happens. thank you :)

While expert advise is always worth getting, ITAR is not some magical spellbook that no one else is allowed to read.

(Admittedly some of the material can be dense, but the parts pertaining to firearms are fairly straightforward.)

Not even all firearms are covered by ITAR, let alone a device that does not itself constitute a firearm part.

Short answer is 'No'. Speedloaders are not covered by ITAR. Uplula type magazine loaders aren't either, if you are wondering. :)

hey six...that could be argued, but it's merely semantics.

Sandy says they're good to go. I'm just waiting for a quote now. :)

edit - well poop, seems Brownell's doesn't carry what I need. :p

But I had to fill out an end user certificate (due to IAR) for .50 BMG replacement decapping pins. Another example - the Giraud automated cartridge annealer - restricted due to its status as "automated reloading equipment".

Anyone who thinks that ITAR is limited to certain firearms or firearm parts does so at their own peril!

That would be because ammunition manufacturing and loading equipment, as well as any components, parts, accessories and attachments for ammunition, ARE covered by ITAR (see Part 121.1, Category III) ;)

Was clarifying based on your post above - glad we all agree to agree!

I've ordered directly from 5 Star before. I had them shipped to a US address and self imported but they do ship to Canada. You may have to call them as I remember the website wasn't clear on the issue. (This was a few years ago)

4wheelguns.com ships to Canada. I have bought from them and they shipped.
Excellent service.

They also have loading blocks and loading blocks in cases.

hey all, 5Star just replied to my inquiry, they so ship direct to Canada or you can source through Al Flaherty's, their CDN dealer.

this is great news for me! :D

I wonder if Speed Beez ships to Canada direct. have to drop them a line. I don't need fancy drilled and polished aluminum billet exactly, LOL!
