Where do ya buy BP accessories

:confused: Wholesale dont have any BP stuff anymore!

Now i got a Cap and Ball Revolver i need Stuff!!! and i have no clue where to buy Powder flasks and other things im gona need.
In Canada preferred.
Or should i just Track the wolf ?

You could try "Wholesale Sports" in Calgary.
I bought a bunch of BP stuff there on my last buffalo hunt.
I bought a brass powder measure there and I remember seeing powder flasks as well.
The problem that I had in that store was theres just too much cool stuff.
I got totally overwelmed and couldn't make up my mind on what to buy.
I ended up buying very little.
If you do end up buying from the USA, Buffalo Arms is great.
I bought almost everything for my Sharps rifles from them.

I will certainly give a plug for Hillfolk in Saskatchewan but Jack of Two Paws fame stocks a reasonable amount of accountrements. Also empty horns that you can make up yourself so you don't have to rustle a cow :>) :>)

Thanks i only looked in my wholesale catalog as i cant go to there stores.
they sure dont list much BP stuff in the Catalog.
i will check out Hillfolk.
I do want to make alot of my own stuff but id like to buy a brass or copper powder flask that measures each charge of Pyro or BP.
But any leather products like possibles bag and shot bag i figger i can make as its fun on rainy days (thats every day here latley :rolleyes: )

I was reading Six guns By Elmer Keiths tonight and he claims that a Rd ball is very accurate and deadly in these old cap and ball guns.

They shot Buffalo with em off horse back! Up close right into the lungs.

Another guy waited in a tree over Baits and shot Griz on the top of the skull with a fully loaded 44 Cap and Ball killing them.
I like the in the tree part LOL Guy wasnt compleatly nuts.
 
You could try Wholesale in Lethbridge too. They have a good selection of powder, round ball, caps and other goodies. Lots of thompson center bits and stuff like B/P cleaners and lubes, but you'll have to make a trip to their location, as they don't mail out from that store.
 
Buying Black Powder Items

If you go to a black powder club if you can, and talk to the members. The black powder guys don't buy all the fancy items from a catalogue they would rather make them. I have gone to black powder shoots and rendezvous for years and bought most of my items off the trade blankets. Ever got some of my guns off them, including pistols. Places like Dixie Gun Works and Track of the Wolf have great items. If you can’t purchase something you can at least get an idea what’s out there. I have quite a few spare items that I would part with that I never use. If you want to send me a want list I will check on what I have and get pictures back to you. Some are new.
If you buy a pistol be sure to use No10 caps on the cylinders not No11. The No11 caps have too much space between the cap and nipple and cause the chain fire. I see guys putting shortning around the top of the bullet to prevent chain fire. If you think about it where will the chain fire occur not on the sealed end of the cylinder but the cap end.

Very good point! Ya i was reading about the Chain fire and what causes them your 100% right.
Im gona buy No 10 caps cause 11s have to be squeezed to stay on.
im really likeing these old Pistols tho im spoiled cause my R&S is like a Brand new gun even tho its a 140+ years old. :)
